On An Airplane Next To A Fat Guy

only flying 3 times in your life seems bizarre to me

Well I don't fly for work, I don't have any family or friends that live far away, other than my dad's sister and her kids that I've visited once in Orlando. I vacationed in NYC and went on a cruise from Miami. I've driven to Niagara Falls and Mississippi and Lackland AFB in Texas. Driven to NOLA.

Just never needed to fly.

It was always fun on the first road trip flight with Wake Football seeing some of the guys who were taking their first flights.

Some guys were really excited but more than one future NFL player would be in near tears because they were so nervous about flying.

Poverty airport now selling Wake gear.

Oh man ! Check out that SWEET Greensboro sweatshirt hanging there in the background !!!!!!!

Quite the sartorial statement. I wonder if it comes in a hoodie.

Representation matters !

Flyers can find this new merchandise just past the seventh HPU advertising mural.

This a another step in expanding the footprint of Wake Forest. It may not be a big one. However. Wake Forest name and merchandise is in one more place than it was before.

I flew through Charlotte twice recently, and I don't think I had before. I guess it's a bit of an AA hub. Is it a known thing what a piece of shit airport that is? Thee walking hallways are far too narrow (or the seating areas are far too small) for the traffic. And the coffee options are awful.

well, you're right that it's fairly crowded, which is why all the construction has been going on. But otherwise it's a good airport. what's your favorite? if you say BWI or IAD or some shit like that you are banned from the discussion

I distinctly recall being impressed with the CLT airport the last time I went

Yeah I mean, rocking chairs + bojangles is a combo better than 90% of the airports I've been to.

CLT is getting better but still has way too many desolate areas. You can down certain wings and it’s a Ghost Town , but I imagine that it will be better in a year or two. It’s certainly better when it was just the main food court area a decade ago.

Dulles is hell on earth, I wouldn't say I have a "favorite airport." But this is why I asked about Charlotte. I only know the interior areas as I said, and didn't see construction. But it's beyond crowded--the gate areas in that terminal are terrible designed making prime time foot traffic plodding. Hopefully that's in the expansion plan.

I flew into Dulles last week and am flying out on Saturday. I hate that airport.

what in the actual fuck are you talking about? nothing about CLT is desolate

Maybe 5 years ago it seemed like a long journey to the D and E terminals, but not anymore. Food court at D & E is actually pretty good and has a Potbelly. Toogs is correct about the crowded concourses in A, B, and C though and it confirms you're part of the flying ratrace. Not a great design from 40 years ago (Happy Birthday CLT this week !).

Concessions are pretty bad the last two times I went to the airport due to staffing issues, but a better mix is probably needed so people can get coffee in 10 minutes or less instead of taking forever at Starbucks.

Fav airports, anything small, like 1 terminal, that has major airlines and foot options, ie Portland, Manchester, Savannah, Columbia, Montrose
Worst airports, anything that is large but poorly designed, Dulles, LAX, LaGuardia, Chicago. Also any airport that closes restaurants early, Columbus.

Yeah, Manchester is awesome.

Agree about closing restaurants early. Total dick move.
