To Kory's point, the best actual teachers I had at UNC were (for the most part) the grad students or younger associate prof types. Just put a lot more effort into their lessons and actually teaching.

WFU was a little more split on that front, at least, for grad school. But I'm sure that just depends entirely on department.

Similar to going to the Citadel, right? Probably like the discipline of it + have some interest in military career after + couldn't get into West Point.

Pretty sure it's expected that if you're specifying that you're in the top 1% of a skill/sport/job, you'd be in the top 1% of people who practice that skill/sport/job, not the general population.

I think Biff has posrepped 2 posts in my entire boards career. One was to remind me to submit sheep and the other was today when I admitted to making 15 year olds cry.
 
Man, for those of us that survived, having the amount of restaurants that deliver due to the pandemic increasing by 20 fold is quite the life hack. The place that invented the french dip sandwich is within delivery distance, and on the side comes the best brownie you'll ever eat.

I played football with a guy in high school that played at VMI and had another buddy that went for undergrad. One of them set the course record for their obstacle course.

Both guys were interested in military careers but wouldn’t have been anywhere close to an academy appointment. At least one and I think both pursued military careers. One was on a nuclear sub.
 
A restaurant here is named “z best Greek” and that’s a phenomenal choice
 
I'm friends with a dude that played Outside Linebacker at VMI about 10 years ago.

He did not pursue a career in the military.

Was 6'6" 240 then when I just looked at his bio... He's probably no more than 215 these days. I'm used to guys like that getting fat when they stop playing.
