Has anyone here quit a job due to miserableness without having anything else lined up? How did it work out?
No advice but sorry to hear it’s not going well man. That’s a really tough situation.

I'm actually mostly surprised that you got such good service from United in that scenario. I've always had them down my list on Airlines. Maybe the status helps a lot.
United customer service has improved from bloody stool to explosive diarrhea

Coordinating what to do food wise for Thanksgiving. Waiting on my mom to let me know if she's coming up but otherwise it'll be just my wife, my MIL, and me. They don't like turkey and we've done fish, cornish game hen, lamb, and duck the last four years. I'm thinking Porkapalooza but does anyone have any fun suggestions? Still gonna do my grandma's twice baked potatoes like always but thinking I may add some bacon to them this year to spice it up.
It’s just LadyYB, me & a friend that lives in Colorado Springs this year. LadyYB is adamant she wants turkey but no way am I cooking a whole turkey. She’ll get a turkey breast and she’ll like it.

My wife wants to quit her job with nothing lined up about once a year, I tell her that’s not very practical, then she starts a new project, they give her a huge bonus, she’s happy for awhile, I’m proven right until it happens again the next year.

Last year we had doofus, his wife, and our mom up for thanksgiving and my wife and I cooked. We did lamb and for some reason my MIL tented the lamb after I pulled it out of the oven to rest and was adamant it should stay tented so it “keeps warm.” Obviously it ended up overdone and when she mentioned it at the table I thought my wife may choke her out. Doofus and I wisely averted our eyes and continued drinking our wine.

I am often met with disbelief when I do not know a celebrity, but our young admin assistant said she did not know who Willie Nelson was. We are in Austin. There is a statute of him. There is a street named after him.

Yes. Twice, actually.

For us and our particulars it worked out well.

Best wishes.
I mean on one hand its a terrible fit and a miserable experience, where I lack the agency or the ability to do my work, on the other hand bills.

I asked my students if they knew what "water cooler talk" meant. They looked at me like I was speaking an alien language.

Yep.

Two conditions can make it feasible: Having adequate liquid savings and reasonable expectations you can find new work without much difficulty.

I quit a job with the state of NC in the summer of 2008. That was a very dumb move. Spent the next year temping and working at a coffee shop.
