MBB Game 4: LaSalle Explorers - Friday 2pm - CBS Sports Network

I get the comments about the slow start, but we were missing wide open looks while Nickleberry was hitting fadeaways and banked in a 3. We kept playing our game, kept playing defense with some good adjustments, we taxed them inside and wore them down with our depth.

This is exactly the kind of game we lost all the time in the pre-Forbes era. A well-coached, less talented team would run hot for a bit and we'd go into panicky hero ball. This just looks like another Forbes team where players understand their roles and are quickly learning how to play with each other.

Gotta figure out this NIL shit so Forbes stays...

To me, it feels like more than missed shots. We look slow and disjointed on offense to start these games. We had 2 point 5 minutes into this game and we were down 11-2 5 minutes in against UVU. Would rather not have to dig ourselves out each game.

But yeah, it was only a couple of games. And I like the defensive effort. I just don't think you start Taylor and Bradford if you're only going to play them 4-6 minutes in the beginning of the game and then never again.

And I want Bradford to be good. Relying on Carr for 35mpg is a lot. Keller and Klintman help, but that's not a 3 man rotation at the 4/5 with a lot of bulk/strength.

I agree, but it's not like we're going to play a bunch of teams with great big men and lots of depth in the post. If these guys don't grow up quick, it will almost certainly keep us from winning the national championship.

Fair. I'm mostly worried about Carr getting worn down playing so many minutes at the 5. Keller is coming along quickly.

I think mostly about UNC and Bacot, but that's only 1 team and Marsh/Bradford can just foul the shit out of Bacot the whole game.

Yeah, I also thought about UNC-CH, and then realized they're the #1 ranked team in the country.

This girl in the studio is SPUNKY !!!

That’s Renee Montgomery. Former WNBA player, part-owner of the Atlanta Dream, Hawks studio host, she’s done some other broadcasting on ESPN and podcasting as well.

Hack a Bac.

Just keep winning. Gotta close out games a little better. The UGA game and today both should’ve been 20 point wins.

We settle more outside and take a little time to get into an aggressive "get downhill to the basket" mindset it seems for sure. That said, we also missed five wide open threes in the first five minutes of the game.

We'll hit a bunch of 3s early in our next game to take a 15-2 lead into the first TV timeout and I'll just shut my mouth.

Nice win today. Especially with Williamson shooting 2-11 (0-4 from 3).

I'll take it.

Gonna settle in for a little scouting for Sunday. Georgetown is -4, should be a competitive game?

i didn't really watch closely but my take early on is that there is a good bit of talent on the team with a big dose of inconsistency

gonna lose to some teams we should not lose to, but there's enough there that beating better teams should happen too

all gonna come down to raising the floor on the bad performances and avoiding losing to really bad teams

2 of starters combined to go 0-1 with 1 rebound. I don’t understand why they are starting.

Man looking at our schedule.... We are going to need 30 wins to get a 10 seed.

I think this team has the potential to be better than last year's team. There I said it!!
I disagree but I do think we have a higher ceiling than I originally thought. We were a top 35-40 metrics team last year and I think with Forbes at the helm we can get into the top 50 and potentially make a run at the NCAAT. Key is to win a lot of these 65-70% OOC games. If we can win Sunday, we should be 7-0 going to Wisconsin. I think we realistically need to take 2 of 3 of the Wisconsin, Clemson, LSU stretch and get to 9-1 to be positioned towards tournament play. Lots of season left but we're 4-0 so we have opportunities.

This isn't far off. I think 25 regular season wins + two ACCT wins gets firmly on the bubble.

Yeah, hopefully we look better in our metrics than lat years team because we're playing better competition.
