Worst Senior Day Crowd Ever?

The crowd was better than I expected it to be. There were a good amount of students there in the first half. Not a great crowd by any means, but better than I expected given the circumstances.

I love how that's always some bozo to criticize crowd size. Like yo, are you new to wake forest? We are tiny. We don't have a huge local following. Doesn't mean we can't strive for better. But reality is reality. Especially funny from someone who wasn't even there. Stfu

I was at the game. Not a huge crowd but decent. Given our size we will always be dependent upon local interest and this team hadn't exactly done much the past few weeks to get people excited. When we win, folks show. It's just how it works.

Excuse me? I simply made an observation and comment. It surprised and disappointed me to see such a small crowd size last night. Was it cold and late? Sure, but so what? Does our fan base not own jackets and have to be in bed by 7pm? Like seriously. And where were the students?

That’s a good point. And I know we have played poorly the past few weeks. My only gripe is more that this was Sam’s last home game. For all he’s done for Wake, he deserved a better send off from the home crowd. That showing in the stands last night was piss poor. Sam deserved better but of course he will never say anything.

The crowd really wasn’t that bad. Not sure what you saw on TV but it was an OK crowd and a decent student section. Definitely nowhere close to the worst senior day crowd ever. Not thread worthy.

So why didn’t you come send him off

Yeah, Riley's last home game with 4-6 WFU losing to FSU to get to 4-7 was way worse attendance iirc. Especially student section that day. Noon game + senior 5th == worst possible results.

The family in front of me at the stadium drives over 2.5 hours from Lumberton. Their son has to drive them because of health issues, and they could not make it. Getting home at 3:00am is a little rough for them, so they always give me their tickets. I filled all seats. We have to work at making new local fans to fill those seats. It is insane that a city the size of Winston cannot do it.
It was not about getting to 7-4 last nite. It was about senior nite.

If you weren’t there, you got no reason to gripe. I was there and I’d rather enjoy the much needed W from last night and Sam’s great performance than to bitch and moan about the crowd.
