2022 WFU bowl speculation thread

Sakerlina fans are annoying in their own way. They think they're great, and spout the typical SEC shit, but at this point I would much prefer them to beat Clemson so I can stop hearing about the Tigers every 5 mins.

Just feel lucky you're in Charleston if you're bothered by Clemson fans. They really aren't as thick as in that area.

That's the good thing about an ocean; pretty much cuts off one whole side of town from being inhabited by undesirables.

All day long.
Fair enough. I also have a pretty Silky Johnson view on sports in general. I like my teams, and I hate everyone else almost equally. My prefence for this weekend in CFB is that only the Deacs win. The rest of the teams can all get leprosey.

I've had a blast at the DC bowls, but I'm not upset about warmer weather.

I will likely be in attendance in Annapolis or Charlotte. But my preference is for wherever the team wants to go.

I'm selling myself on El Paso being fun for 2 days.

Give me the Fenway Bowl against Tulane/Cincy/UCF and call it a day. 11 AM Saturday kick, likely against a ranked team, in a historic venue in Boston? I'm in.

This is what I want. I had some great tickets lined up for last year's Fenway Bowl for super cheap.... nice indoor/heated box seats (but with some outdoor seating just outside. Wasted my time researching the bad UVA team and SMU team for NFL prospects... and then the game was cancelled due to COVID. I'd love to see the Deacs in Boston but attendance would be HORRENDOUS.

Military bowl is more of a punishment than reward - terrible weather, terrible stadium, no fanfare, no prestige, lackluster conference tie-in. Military and Birmingham Bowl are really the dregs of P5 Bowls

Y’all are really hoping for the Fenway Bowl? That’s mind boggling unless you live in New England. Hell, I lived in New England for 7 years and still wouldn’t go to a bowl game in Fenway in the freezing cold against a shit opponent. We still have a good shot at the Sun or Holiday. While people would have trouble attending, those are both good bowls with interesting new opponents.

The Fenway Bowl has been canceled for 2 years in a row. I wonder if it will ever actually happen.

Sun Bowl would suck and most of us wouldn’t go both because SW Texas sucks and is hard to get to. But it also would give us more hype to play a decent opponent.

Are people more likely to go to Fenway or Pinstripe than Sun or Holiday?

The first two for sure because we have more alum in those places and they are easier to get to. But they are definitely worse bowls in the pecking order.

I'm in Maine about 90 mins from Boston and would 100% go to the Fenway Bowl if Wake was playing (just like I would when we have away games in Chestnut Hill @BC). There is also a very slim chance I'd go to the Pinstripe Bowl if the schedule aligned with family/friends I have in NYC and the opponent was a good one.

I actually love traveling to cities I've never been to (and El Paso fits that bill). Each college football season I try to do a weekend trip for 2 games - a Friday night one followed by a Saturday one within driving distance. But $1000 flights to El Paso put that bowl out of the question. Same goes for San Diego. I agree that's the most desireable bowl for the Deacs and we should get a decent opponent. I'd be interested in UCLA, USC, Utah, Oregon or Washington.

The only positive about the Fenway Bowl is that it would officially be the inaugural one since it keeps getting cancelled.
