Apple CarPlay seems sweet. I have a 2015 and was the last model that didn't have it. Probably getting a new car on a lease through my business next year. Looking forward to that feature.
love Apple CarPlay, and the only thing the minivan we're renting now has that I like is the wireless CarPlay vs wired on the Subaru. but my phone only connects to the Bluetooth in the minivan half the time. usually if I'm leaving the house it'll connect, then I'll get somewhere like dropping off my son at daycare, get back in the car, and it won't connect for like 10 mins, even though it was just connected like 5 mins before.

how can people type "woah" and not be like "oh yeah, that rhymes with Noah"?
my son loves this book, but it has some weird rhymes....like "hair" and "prayer" (as in Livin' On A). I guess I just don't pronounce the latter close enough to the former.

No, I am not getting that close. On a busy road if you have that much space other cars will just move into that space anyway.

I, personally, have owned 4 cars in my 44 years. 86 (I think) Chevy S-10 when I was 16. Quickly wrecked that and then got an 88 Honda Accord LX. Drove the Accord until I was about 20 and then bought a new 98 Honda Civic HX. Drove the Civic until 2015 when I bought my new (then) Nissan Frontier. Hope I get another 10 years out of my Nissan.
Hmm, let's see. In rough order I (or me and my wife) have owned/driven:

1987 Chevy S-10
1966 Ford Mustang
1999 Ford Ranger
2005 Nissan Frontier
2008 Infiniti G-35
1989 Toyota Land Cruiser
1998 Toyota Land Cruiser
2016 Toyota Highlander

I still own the highlighted Toyotas. I really need to do something with the 89; it desperately needs some front end work to be drive-able, but is otherwise in pretty good shape (engine/transmission/transfer case all working well).

The 98 is supercharged and it's an absolute beast. I love having that vehicle for our adventures, but it's showing it's age and 12 mpg is getting kind of old. The Highlander is the 'town car' / daily driver and its what you want out of a Toyota - highly functional, reasonably comfortable, and super reliable.

I'm kind of a 'car-guy.' I like looking at them, driving them, keeping up on what's coming around. My ideal stable would be an EV, a modern 4x4 for family adventure (ideally a land cruiser or gx460, but I like the Sequoia too), and a 'fun car' or 'date night' car. While I'd prefer an FJ-40, they are ridiculously expensive so I've been thinking an older Wrangler or CJ would be fun, especially for running around town in the spring/summer when you can take the doors off.

i'm afraid we're losing sight, however, of the fact that we really need better bus and bike/ped infrastructure not better cars
And urban density, amirite?

Jokes aside, we bought a long tail e-bike so both kids can fit on the back and in spring and summer we love taking that thing out for rides be it errands, dropping off at summer camp, or just joy riding around Denver. Really opened my eyes to how much the overall biking infrastructure could be improved.

@birdman, I'm finding I have to get pretty close to a bird to be able to even come close to identifying it, even with binocs

seems like a problem
