CTYB4.0: approaching Mako’s dinner time

@birdman, I'm finding I have to get pretty close to a bird to be able to even come close to identifying it, even with binocs

seems like a problem
Patience and practice are probably the answer. I used to move closer to get better views but have learned it is often better to wait and watch until the bird moves to a better perch. Also practice. 80% of the birds I encounter I just know what they are or my brain has narrowed it down to a couple options before I really even focus the binoculars. I just sort of know, and that’s come with years of practice.
