Sorry to hear that my man. How do you feel about French? Toulouse on Knox is pretty good. Highland Park Village has several average options like Honor Bar. There is also a strip next to SMU that has a bunch of places.I think one or two of you live in Dallas. Any recs on dinner, preferably not too far from University Park? I'm heading there on Thursday for a funeral (fuck you cancer) and need something for that night. I grew up in Dallas but haven't lived there since '93 and haven't been since probably '02, so I really have no idea where anything is.
We started ordering groceries during the pandemic and that has carried over. I pick them up every Tuesday. It costs money obvi, but saves us both a good bit of time.i think of it as you can spend money to get that time back for yourself..
eg insta-carting the order so you don't have to spend time in store dealing with general populace, then just going on a better and longer walk that's not bounded by the need to get somewhere
People who have a giant cart full of 75 items in the self checkout are absolutely triggering the fuck out of me lately.god i wish going to the grocery store were as fun as doing quests
instead its just an hour of dodging mouth breathers and waiting in checkout lines w/ people who are incapable of assisting the cashier in any capacity, would rather spend money to avoid that AND get my time back to do what I want like play Skyrim instead
We do a pick up order; saves a least an hour a week not having to be in the store. Trade-offs are that sometimes you get produce you wouldn't have picked yourself, but overall its a huge benefit for us to continue with it until the summer farmers markets start back up.i think of it as you can spend money to get that time back for yourself..

The produce is usually terribly selected. We do a pick up order; saves a least an hour a week not having to be in the store. I kinda get this and it's a calculation I make from time to time but then I also end up on instagram watching comedians make jokes about sex for 30 minutes and it's pretty clear I don't really value my time that much after allI mean it’s pretty remarkable to me how little people value their time. Usually it works out to spending $5 to save like 30 minutes
yeah, i definitely do this calculation and never get costco gasWhat about those people that wait in line at Costco to save maybe $0.10 per gallon? I'll just go pay a couple extra dollars and be in and out in less than 5 minutes.
Nobody wants to work anymoreThe constant mental negotiations with myself regarding life in six minute increments and the value of those six minutes is a major reason I GTFO the legal world. And the partner who I got assigned to who loved to regale me with tales of how back in his day he was HAPPY to bill 3k hours a year and sleep on his office floor and didn't understand why I couldn't reschedule my wife's birthday dinner to spend another six hours working on our securities fraud filing
They also make a lot of mind boggling substitutions. We paid $100 for a year of unlimited pickup at Harris Teeter during covid but it’s just gone way downhill. They don’t even reach out anymore when an item isn’t available. The produce is usually terribly selected.
this is why I avoid doing it. I see the dumb kids who work at Ingles and I don't trust them. The produce is usually terribly selected.
We all know what birdman's fav track is.I think I'm going to listen to a lot of They Might Be Giants today
Yeah it was a little frustrating overall as the managing partner who I was hired to work for had personal issues ongoing and wasn't in the office as much. Around the same time a new partner came on board with his own corporate business book (not an area I was interested in practicing in nor one that ever came up during the interview process) and as the low man on the totem I got assigned to him. Oh well all's well that ends well. Now I drink fun wine and spend my day making social media posts while counting bottles in the basement. Best of all: more time to talk to you nerdsNobody wants to work anymore
