NIT bubble watch

Pretty sure I remember seeing DR at the tourney back in the day wearing a Hansborough high school jersey.
 
Florida, Michigan, Villanova and Seton Hall are all .500 or close. And along with VT projected higher seed than us.
 
He has VT a 3 seed, so they are in comfortably. His bracket as Cincy in it, so unless Wes was told he had to take it, they should be out.
 
UNC declining the NIT is perfectly on-brand. They believe the NCAA tourney is their birthright. If you are a basketball player you want to play basketball. There is a title available to be won - go try and win it. If you think you are too good for the NIT, prove it by winning it.

However, at least UNC has one of the most impressive basketball legacies in the country to at least somewhat justify their attitude. Cincy declining the invite is embarrassingly ridiculous. Who the hell does Wes think they are? They have been good in the past and had a few good seasons more recently, but really?
 
Feel safe in saying Bacot, Love, Nance, and RJ have no desire to play. It puts them in a tough spot. Also that fan base would make the dean dome an empty arena for the home games, so I do get it.
Hubert on the other hand could use the practice and games, but whatever. Somehow hope it opens a spot for Wake. Apparently Wake is below VT and Utah Valley.
 
The Heel's just want to shun further scrutiny. The first preseason #1 to not make the tourney. They should be embarrassed. Hubert's head will roll if they're in the same situation next year.
