Which ones ? Tennessee who was safely in the NCAAT and has better depth than us ? It’s not like we were safely in the NIT before he got hurt.
 
Wouldn’t be surprised if Forbes didn’t jump ship for another program. With computers picking teams with worse records for these post season tournaments, NIL money, and transfers, Forbes will always be delt a bad hand at LOWF. He does more with less since he’s been here but no computer is tracking that!

I could put together a list of NIT teams missing key players, but who gives a shit?

We were left out because our metrics sucked, not because of Monsanto being unavailable.

Now, if we had gotten in, I’m not sure we would have lasted long… So no tears over here.

On the contrary, I think this is exactly what he signed up for - working to get us back to relevance, and then hopefully dominance. I doubt he's too surprised.
 
Yeah, big ten gets 8 again to lose in the first 2 days. Then wis has 17 wins with a loss to us at home yet they are considered better than us? Acc wins big 10 challenge yet they stiil get almost twice as many teams in. Yeah its total horse shit
Only chance we have to gain any respect back is to win the acc outright. Because if last year wasn't good enough to get in, then we don't have a shot to ever get back.
Ron wellman really killed this program possibly beyond repair

I don’t personally feel like we’re getting passed up because we’re LOWF. We get passed up cause our resume sucks and we lost some games we definitely could have or should have won. Coach seems to get that.

We may not have the brand of a UNC or Duke but they also haven’t sucked for the previous decade plus.
 
Colorado and Washington State in the worst P5 conference and 17-16 records got in. The schools that got in with worse records than Wake are all big state schools with more fans and more money.

Are record is better than a few teams that got in. Not to mention a VT program whose conference record was worse

They also had better metrics. Wake has to become more efficient. Take away the buzzer beaters versus Utah Valley & App St, then Wake too is 17-16.
I wish they got in, but it is time to build a roster that is efficient on both offense & defense and doesn’t get beat by wack ass teams like Boston College. LMU, LSU, & Syracuse.

I’ll give you one since I can’t sleep.

Seton Hall (17-15) dropped 4 of their last 5 when they lost their starting PG. Never really on the NCAA bubble, but still made the NIT.

Competing against Miami and only losing by 2 was analytically equivalent to winning by 2, which is far far different than us struggling with bad teams, where us winning on a last second shot was analytically equivalent to losing to them. The analytics don’t care about wins and losses, it’s about competing, consistency, and efficiency. The team that almost beats Miami should kick the asses of bad teams.
