WFU Hoops: '23-'24 Roster Construction Thread: +Miller, Sallis, Reid, & Canka

The portal isn’t paperwork. It’s a massive door they step into and immediately get sucked out into space, where they float around like wayward satellites, some much brighter than others, all hoping someone will notice them. At least that’s always how I’ve envisioned it.

Would not be surprised if Keller heads back West. Would be disappointed, but not surprised.
I would be very disappointed. I seem to be higher on Keller than the vast majority of the board. He's got quick hands on defense, can actually shoot, and has great size. Big guys take time to develop. He's going to be an excellent player for us if he stays.

Bro you aren't higher on Keller than me.

I said by his Jr year he'd be as good as James Johnson was as a Freshman.

If my math is right, currently we have 2 open scholarships given who has officially entered the portal:

Gone: DW, Appleby, Taylor, McCray, Open Scholarship that we already have (5)
In: Clark, MMM, Friedrichsen (3)

Would guess Bradford is the next domino to fall, giving us 3. Not sure if there is one more move after that, but it seems like every year there is a surprise.

Time to get to work in the portal and get some ballers.

1A and 1B are a PG and a center capable of starting (or at least giving 20-25 mins)

After that I think we try to get the best player possible with a preference to a guard who can handle the ball. Obviously if a 4th slot opens up then it frees us up a bit.
We are allowed 13 and were only using 12 this past year. Right?

Which gives us 3 plus Bradford.

I'd rather Wake keep both.
Marsh is a terrible, terrible defender and has no offensive ability. He'd average 2 points a game without Appleby or another great guard feeding him lobs.

I hope he stays, for continuity and because I like to see players develop, but he needs to have a majorly impactful offseason to become an ACC player.

really like Keller, hope he stays, he is still very young. lots of potential in my opinion.

wow, i left for like an hour and the portal is wide open

i will add on...i really hope Keller stays

Also, while I'm sure that Forbes will try to find Bradford a good landing spot and help him with a waiver to play right away... You could also just remove him from the team (extreme, I know). Scholarships aren't guaranteed and Bradford has pretty clearly checked out.
