I've talked about lumping some of the recent stuff together with recruiters and my interview coach and they have advised against it. I appreciate the offer to help, and if I see any of your connections hiring on Linkedin, I will definitely reach out. It's gonna be all good my man, sometimes I just like to use the board as a place to complain rather than burden my wife or my friends.
cool man...keep your head up.

…so we’re not your friends?

longest i ever went without power was 7 days. In a Florida summer. that was miserable, was post hurricane. Whole house was so musty by the time it was done. Thankfully my company put us up in a hotel for a portion of it, but man that just sucked
longest I think was 10 days or so after a hurricane. the worst hurricane to hit my town (Ivan in 04) I was at Wake so the rest of my family suffered nearly a month without power. miserable.

did y'all know Newsmax prints a magazine? there's a copy here on the coffee table at the Toyota dealership. stories include: big tech war on kids, AM radio ban in cars, and Rick Warren's(??) new dreams.

there's also a few copies of the Washington Examiner magazine. Thought they were just a newspaper.

That’s nuts. Longest stretch as an adult for me was 3-4 days on 2 different occasions living in the DC area. One winter and one summer. Both sucked for their own reasons but summer was really tough when it was 82-83 degrees in my apartment. I was living in Montgomery County at the time and pretty much the entire county was dark. By the last day I was ready to drive as far as needed to get to a hotel.

I was so pissed off when they traded Brett Butler and Brook Jacoby to Cleveland for Len Barker.

But, Niekro, Perez, Camp, Mahler, McMurtry, Garber, Bedrock...

And, yes, I do have a Biff Pocoroba shirzee
that was such a terrible trade. len barker was a real dick. my little brother dated his very hot daughter for a while

don't forget the mad hungarian Al Hrabosky

Got (expensive) new outdoor shutters for the house, and installation was included in the price. They are installing now, 3 guys are here. How much would you tip?

was he a pinch hitter? he wasn't one of the regular 8 in 1982-83 was he?

yeah it was so goddamn hot. we had Erin and Opal in 95 and then Dennis in 05 while I was home for the summer. We'd basically spend the days cleaning the yard since it'd be hotter inside the house than out. we'd go to my parents' office at night to eat dinner and watch TV since it was on priority for getting power back. we had a gas powered generator that we'd use to power the fridge and a window AC unit in the basement and would sleep down there. after Dennis my parents got a whole house generator but we never had a big storm there in the remaining years they lived in it.

@Biff Ochocinco Tannen big beer news

In 2023, CCBC is already up 13.2% at the mid-year mark, with projected upside for the second half based on a big development: Becoming the official craft beer of University of Georgia Athletics.

The multi-year deal allows Creature Comforts to utilize the Georgia Athletics marks and logos on various packaging and marketing materials, along with the brand’s campaign tagline: Go Dawgs, Sip ‘Em!

Creature Comforts’ Athens pub will also host watch parties and “have activations celebrating all sports as the Official Tap Room of the Georgia Bulldogs,” per announcement.

Creature Comforts founder and CEO Chris Herron called the move “a significant milestone for the Creature Comforts team,” which makes particular sense considering their Athens, GA provenance.

“This partnership is about more than putting a ‘G’ on the packaging, but a natural progression to all the ways we have worked with the University through the years. We are fans, friends, and graduates of UGA who look forward to linking our brands across the state, and to driving awareness around both our organization’s community and philanthropic efforts.”

I used to be a regular Atlantic reader. Had the subscription and everything. Then Conor Friedersdork kept coming out with dumber article after dumber article and he single-handedly drove my cancellation.
