What do you mean?Wait; Biden actually marched on the picket line with the UAW?
I mean. really. I guess he needed that endorsement really badly. But C'mon. He's the damn President.
This seems naive at best. For one, Biden has done the "pressure both sides" approach for some things like the railroad workers. I don't recall him doing anything publicly with regard to the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes. In this case, it made sense for him to go to the picket line for UAW.Presidents resolve disputes. They pressure both sides to settle when they have to. There is precedent for that.
But taking so blatantly a side by walking a picket line? Not very presidential in my mind and absurd.
"Hey auto makers, a 20% pay increase offer may be good for most Joe"s and Jane's in this Country, but these people deserve 40%. And hey, when the auto business shits the bed, (which it will) they will agree to roll back their increases?"
Will that happen?? I think not. But hey, that's just my opinion.
We know - and they're never not shit. But hey, that's just my opinion.
I thought Biden's trip was scheduled first. I certainly heard about it first. No way UAW was going to endorse Trump. I know it's usually portrayed this way, but unions aren't just middle America white guys.No PH, I have no use for anyone taking an "anti union" stance or trying to bust a Union. Collective bargaining is a staple of our System. I simply think that a President taking sides at this point in the negotiations is not productive. You and I both know it is strictly to counter trump and his upcoming visit and chance that he may received their endorsement.
And in my mind, not very Presidential for a sitting President.
Spoken like someone who's never spent July in San FranciscoSuck wind Shoo.....it'll be a cold day in July when your opinion ever matters.
It seems like you'd prefer the President to pressure disputes that lead to strikes to be resolved as quickly as possible as opposed to letting the strike play out. Which is a stance that is clearly on the anti-labor side of things, as strikes are never going to be effective if there isn't a threat for them to last a while.Presidents resolve disputes. They pressure both sides to settle when they have to. There is precedent for that.

And in my mind, not very Presidential for a sitting President. Oh and yes, I don't like Biden. And he seems to give me more and more reasons each day.
But my opinion of his likely rival is well documented.
Maybe the problem is too many well paid people of color.I thought Biden's trip was scheduled first. I certainly heard about it first. No way UAW was going to endorse Trump. I know it's usually portrayed this way, but unions aren't just middle America white guys.
That's a start.I’d rather see the president in solidarity with workers than capitol rioters
