Pacquiao-Marquez III

I thought Pac definitely won the fight. There is no real contoversey. Marquez reach and couter punching definitely gave Pac fits. And when Marquez won rounds he did it pretty convincingly. But the totality of the punches thrown and particularly manny's power pounches with the right hand made it pretty clear.

Good fight though. I too now have more questions about Manny being exposed to Mayweather's counter punching. I am now leaning more towards Floyd winning in a decision than ever. Perhaps this fight gives Floyd the confidence to finally sign on the dotted line and make this fight, but we shall see.
 
I actually think the cotto-margarito fight has some promise on its own. But Mayweather would whip either of them I believe.

I really believe the Pac-Mayweather fight needs to happen now. People always talk about the potential money they are leaving on the table, but think about the fact that this could be a trilogy and how much money that could entail. They need to get this first fight in very, very soon. No one is getting any younger.

He already stated that he wanted to set up the fight of the year that everybody has been waiting on in May! Mayweather has nothing to be afraid of, but I respect your opinion!

Anyone who beleives anything that comes from Mayweather's camp must believe the Earth is the center of the universe.....they've bene rtunning form Manny for two years. they have acted more disgracefully than any champion's team in the past sixty years of boxing.

What you are seeing is Arum and Manny trying to get the upper hand they so richly have earned.

If there is allegedly a Marquez fight on the horizon for $20M+, they don't need to fight Mayweather and will get a better split when they make the fight.

What's going on is trying to get the judgement from Mayweather in the court case against him.

Mayweather will run away AGAIN just like he has TWICE before.

In the past half century, no serious champion has been more of a pussy than Mayweather has been towards Manny.

Manny's people should make Mayweather beg for the fight.

I can hear Michael Buffer now, "And in the yellow corner wearing the pink and yellow girlie trunks-Floyd "the pussy" Mayweather."

Exactly. Oscar and Floyd are just trying to posture and drive a wedge in between Arum and Manny. Oscar knows the draw Manny is. Floyd isn't even close to Mannys popularity Worldwide/Nike, etc. Make no mistake about it, Floyd needs to fight Manny more than Manny needs Floyd. Floyd is undefeated and all he needs to really cement that record is a win over Manny. Manny isn't undefeated so I don't think he will ever be known as the best ever.

I'm shocked I had so many friends who said the fight saturday night was a "bad fight" and Manny should have lost because of all the boos. Hell it was 80% mexican in there. Of course they are gonna boo. Granted they dont watch a lot of boxing so i guess their criteria is death or a knockout. Talk about wasting money on a ppv, I bought the previous 2 before this one (Hopkins and Mayweather). I used to be a big Oscar fan but he's really turning me off of late. I can't believe he had the audacity to say last night on twitter that he only puts together "good fights". Again after those last 2 ppvs were golden boy.

So RJ and Stoneville, do you agree with the ESPN article? Do you think that at this point Mayweather would actually agree to a fight with Pacquiao. The article makes it seem like it is Arum / Manny that don't want to fight Pac-Man now, is that the truth? Aka they're choosing a 4th fight with Marquez instead of a potential match with Floyd? Lame if so, but I understand why Manny would want to do this. Better split and the fight with Mayweather can wait (unless Manny loses). And I'm not talking about the past whos ducking who, I'm talking about current circumstances.
 
A 4th fight with Marquez? Nobody wants to see that. Enough with the Marquez fights. We all know the fight people want to see.

It's pure negotiations. If they started with ,"Let's make a deal with Floyd."

Mayweather would have the upper hand in setting the ground rules for the fight. By acting disinterested, the Manny crew can drive the negotiations.

They can also back Mayweather into a corner from which he can't escape this time. If they make Mayweather's camp go on the offensive saying Manny is afraid or doesn't want to fight, the INSTANT Manny/Freddy.Arum say, "OK, let's fight" Mayweather will have nowhere to run. If he doesn't fight, he'll be shown to be the pussy he is.

Arum is a total asshole and a dick. This is not in question, but he's playing Mayweather like a $5 whore in San Diego as then fleet comes into port.
 
I've read/listened to enough to where I really believe Arum has been the one preventing the fight in the last year and now going forward. I think both sides management teams figure why bother putting their guy a large notch below when they can keep getting big money fights that won't diminish their star. Marquez almost beating Pacman might help push forward a fight with Mayweather a little. If Pac is going to lose it has to at least be to Mayweather.
 
I can't believe anyone would believe Arum was the problem over the past two attempts to get Mayweather to stop running away from the fight.

I agree that the Mayweather fight is the one everyone wants to see but the trilogy was great fights. Better than any fight Mayweather has been in lately excluding Wrestlemania vs. the Giant.
 
If Manny could beat Marquez as decisively as Mayweather did, he wouldn't need to fight him again.
