We’re running very little slow mesh this year. And when we do run it it’s the only thing in our offense that works.

Disagree. The entire offense is designed around the RPO. It looks like it is seldom used because the defensive pressure is constant and the OL is getting beat like a drum. When you can't run block or pass block, your offense has a major problem.

Think about when our QBs are getting strip sacked - it’s on standard drop backs where the OL or RBs are getting blown up, not the slow mesh. Or think about when we’re trying to get 1 yard running - the line gets blown up, again not in the slow mesh. I agree that our OL has been bad, but it’s not the slow mesh.

I’m obviously glad I spent the day on girl birthday party patrol. This season sucks. That said, I’m not even close to giving up on Clawson. Let’s please put money toward a new qb.

What bothers me is Mike Elko is on the ACCN right now at 5-1 (should have defeated ND) and took over an absolute depleted Duke team. Here we are in year #10 discussing blocking techniques.

Clawson definitely has been upstaged by his understudy Elko.

And Clawson now has an absolute depleted team.

Yeah, Elko is a really good coach. Or is hitting lightning in a bottle. Too early to tell.

I’m still in on Clawson, looking at the big picture perspective here. But this season has been a massive shitshow of disappointment so far.

Yep. Wake administration tries to be Top 5, even though US News tells it differently….Tier tears. I’m not saying to get guys like Chris Washburn, but still, there has to be some wiggle room.

Wake needs some serious development of guys who play tackle or need to find one or two quality guys in the portal.

DT is a position Clawson specifically mentioned where they thought they’d bring in a couple more guys and they got outbid for their targets this past offseason.

Pointer had 5 tackles today. The other DT combined for 5. And the whole DE group didn’t help much with 6 combined tackles as well.

I have no clue about coaching OL, but I remember during the Caldwell years against FSU, and thinking their DL were giants.

Don’t necessarily disagree, but UNC/Duke have a combined 5 starting transfer OL, and 3 more on the two deep. We obviously have zero.
