Questions about a possible visit to WFU Football Game

Will there be any fall colors? They are peaking here right now. Maybe too early for NC?

Checking a bag just for that reason....and maybe for beer too (and because I'm sure my son will end up buying UNC, Duke, and WFU sweatshirts).

I'm not really into hard liquor but any notable locally-made spirits? Sometimes will bring stuff like that back as gifts.

That’s an easy one if visiting NC for the first time, Junior Johnson’s Midnight Moon Moonshine. FYI, unlike by you, for liquor, you have to buy it from a state liquor store (no easy shopping in the grocery store). I’d get you some real moonshine from the Carolina mountains, but won’t be in town on Sat.

I just looked it up...can actually buy it at my local liquor store. But maybe there's a variety that's only available in NC???
 
Just got back from the mountains yesterday. I'd say peak will be in the next 7-10 days at upper elevations, depending on rain/wind.

Purchasing Duke and UNC gear is not necessary

Those UNC and Duke sweatshirts will just take up extra space. Use that instead for something of meaning and value.

They are far from peaking but they are starting to show. The trees at Maple Springs Methodist are spectacular right now. It is on Reynolda Rd near the main entrance to Wake.
 
Having duke and unc gear isn’t quite as random as having wake gear. They’re like the Yankees or cowboys - best case scenario you look like a bandwagon hopper.

Broad Branch is a local Distillery that has some pretty solid picks (Rye is good): https://www.broadbranchdistillery.com/distillery/

I'm not sure if they sell bottles on premise or not, but I feel like they might? I usually get them at the local ABC store, but supply can be hit or miss there. Could be worth calling ahead and checking.
