NCSU Game Nov 11 2:00 CW

It’s tough, but you have to sell them on something, but I don’t know what that is. Let’s talk Banks, Morin and Greene for example. You can’t sell them on a QB, because that guy may not even be in the locker room right now. You can’t sell them on Wake WRs draft positions because Dortch, Sage and Scotty all went undrafted and AT was a 7th rounder. You can’t sell them on the system because the system didn’t work this year. You can’t sell them on the position coach because it’s not Higgins anymore. So really the only hope is outbid someone else.
Facilities?

Selling a WFU degree and the Wake experience is good but that won't work on players who are graduating.

I think we're headed for a rebuild somewhat similar to 2014. Freshman QB, young shaky OL, young WRs, mercurial defense.

Clawson's overall record at Wake versus ACC opponents (as of 11/11/2023)
31 - 53
ACC Win % = 37%
ACC Loss % = 63%

Not disagreeing with the sentiment but his first two years ought to be discounted considering what Jim left him.

29-39 (.426) if you don't count the first two years.

Unless something changes, Clawson might be leaving the cupboard pretty bare for the next coach too.
What departing coach ever leaves the cupboard anything more than bare? Like seriously? Otherwise they wouldn’t be leaving lol.

Not really, coaches that are successful and moving on to bigger programs leave the cupboard full all the time for the next guy.

Scott Frost for Josh Heupel at UCF. You don’t think Saban left things in good shape at Michigan State when he left for LSU? I agree, yes if a coach gets fired odds are the cupboard is pretty bare, but when coaches leave for better jobs they’re usually leaving a pretty good situation for the next guy, otherwise they wouldn’t be getting the opportunity.

Caldwell left the cupboard in good shape for Grobe.
