WF Game 16: UVA @ LJVM -- Saturday 2 pm - ESPN2

I think Boopie made a lot of those choices himself, so please don’t shoot him. We need him to run circles around the Pack on Tues

Having Reid specifically for the State games would've turned last year into two wins. I'm cautiously optimistic despite the awful issues road teams have had the last 10 days or so in the NCAA

If Burns and Reid can play to a draw on Tuesday I think that’s a win for us. Our guards are better.

Gotta stay out of foul trouble though
Reid has been great but I do worry about Burns’ deceptive quickness with his footwork. Reid has to be better than watching Marsh try to guard Burns, but still worried about that matchup

The ACC will listen to Forbes and give the home team planets of trips to the line

I’m gonna go ahead and warn anyone that might get tempted to call for Marsh over Keller on Tuesday to go rewatch last years Marsh v Burns matchup

Fat Bastard can pass pretty well. Have to cut that off.

I didn’t want to bitch during the game, but I was really watching Beekman to see what makes him DPOY quality, and my god he gets away with a lot of hand checking/contact

The hand checks for the entire team are off the chart.

I cannot get over how bad UVA was offensively. It wasn't even that they played poorly (they did) but they aren't set up for success. Their "good looks" are 17 footers which is just a horrible strategy.

uva gets away with it. The whole starting 5 should have fouled out by half time.

Instead, Wake got 0 foul shots?!

Watched the game on delay and didn’t read this thread, but my takeaway is UVA low key sucks this year.

I know they play a slow tempo, but they showed very little energy and zero fight in getting choked out by the Deacs this afternoon.

NCSU game should be fun. Would be nice to pick up a road win and hand the Pack a loss, but doesn’t feel like a “must win” to me.

Agreed. I won’t be too worried if we drop it as long as we are competitive. It’s the road games at Pitt, GT, and Notre Dame that are must wins (might put UVA in that category too after today)

Low key? They suck.

I think Keller has made huge improvements this year. I am really encouraged about what he will give us in the future.

I completely get the low FTA complaints for Wake today, it’s a bit strange in retrospect.

However, watching the game live I didn’t feel as though there were many clear shooting fouls against UVA that went uncalled. About 90 non-shooting fouls though, mostly in the first half

Yeah I agree. Counter here though as a mitigating factor is our style of offense against athletic defenders and the packline is going to lend itself to turnovers. Not an excuse, just a bigger look at why it happened last two.

Let's keep our minds about us Tuesday night in yet another big game.
Think we faced 2 good defensive teams in a row and could have handled the pressure better. Hopefully NC States defense doesn't create as many turnovers and we take care of the ball. Burns kind of scares me after his performance last year.

We smacked Carolina at (their) home the Alondes year and didn’t get to the NCAAs. I’ll trade a loss in the Dean Dome for the NCAA tournament. That said, let’s do both.
Unfortunately that was a home game for us or it would have been the big win we needed. Our best road wins that year were breaking our long losing streaks at UVA (who was an NIT team), and GT (who sucked) and the good win at VT in early December.
