MBB Game 22: @ GT -- Tuesday 7 pm -- ESPNU

I was not social tonight due to having my two girls with me and missing that pre-game event.

Was surprised that there were so many Deacs at McCamish tonight. Zero home court advantage for the Yellow Jackets.

Wake crowd was actually pretty subdued as well. Not too rowdy, more like shocked by how badly everything was going for tech and laughing nervously.

Regarding the fox, the hedgehog, and the disparity of the quantity of their tricks, I'll only note that Bonner didn't say anything about either.

Was it the other guy? I know I’ve heard someone trot that line out earlier this week, probably during another ACC game.

The pre game event was very well attended and there were some younger kids. At one point I noticed the max capacity was 49 for the space we were in, which was definitely exceeded.

Very impressed with Cam’s play last night. Played within himself and was under control on offense. Carr and Efton were great on both ends last night as well. Having 3 guards that can create their own shot and distribute is going to be so important for this team moving forward. Kudos to Forbes for challenging them last night.

When did we start playing D like UVA? Yeah, GT isn't a good team and shot incredibly poorly, but we were forcing them into bad shots. Also can't remember the last time we forced a shot clock violation. We didn't even have a good shooting night, and we still cruised.

Yeah, I know I went from:

"Let's see if we can hold onto this lead."

to

"Throw the damn towel!!!"

once it got to like 33-5

I was impressed by the number of GT fans that stuck it out. And the mock cheering of most baskets and free throws was great.

My favorite GT fan was a large man that sat in the row behind me with his silent wife.

He started out by yelling at the refs that they weren't calling a fair game.
Then he pleaded with the Yellow Jackets to show some damn effort once the lead got to 20+ and they couldn't score.
And then he gave up and just starting yelling random things every 30 seconds like, "This is basketball!" and "Basketball, man!"
