2023-2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Thread

Random thought, was it last year or year before when the NCAA used those new bright orange balls for the tourney that the player and coaches were complaining about? Why does every division 1 team just not use the same ball?

March is the best:

That is an awesome play, and a great call from Gus, and a super fun moment to watch as a fan.

And...

Not a lot of coaching goes into that. Did Romar call for some screen action? Did Washington do anything other than put the ball in the hands of its future NBA All-Star and say, get us a bucket?

Kind of like how we won the ACC in 1995. Give it to #22 and get the hell out of the way.

FWIW, in the NCAAT that followed that Pac-12 title game, Washington was the #7 seed and they beat #10 UGA in the round 1. They faced #2 seed UNC in the round of 32 and UNC survived 86-83. Tyler Zeller and Harrison Barnes led UNC in scoring.

They should use the red, white, and blue balls from the ABA.

Miss you calling the Big Dance, Gus. I always thought Washington got a little screwed by the schedule makers that year by having to play the late Friday night game (tip around 10pm) in the 1st round, then having to turn around and play UNC at 12:15pm on Sunday in the first game of the 2nd round (9:15am Pacific time).

Still not as bad as the NCAA deciding to make 1st Four winner Clemson play in Dayton at 9:15pm on Tuesday, then turn around and play the first game of the 1st round in Tampa on Thursday at 12:15pm against West Virginia that year.

Because different schools have different sponsors

Boeheim immediately going hard after Burns for being out of shape is pretty funny.
