2012 FOOTBALL RECRUITING MEGA THREAD

Nice.

Thanks for the technical support Ish.

Crump has great film -- roughly half the opportunities of a kid like Quinshad but numbers are just as strong as is the competition. Excited about his potential because he is a real physically developed kid already and a smooth route runner who is not afraid of the middle of the field. We continue to strike Gold in the sunshine state.

The Skinny kid out of Atlanta is a couple of years away but he has more length than any Deac receiver. He has plenty of athletic ability and the gamble on him is "will he be able to add 25-30 pounds to his frame?" If he is able then you will see one of those prototypical West Virginia type wideouts emerge.

Looks like Crump is already physically developed enough to play early. That's great to see. I love the prospects that the Deacs pick up, but sometimes our guys need 2-3 years in a weight room before they become viable. It's nice to get the Duran Lowes and Josh Harrises sometimes too.

A couple of Tennessee's assistant coaches are leaving to go to Washington. Maybe that will help with QD.

Hope so. They were late to the party anyway.

Quinshad - we're all anxiously awaiting your visit to Wake......and hope that it lasts 4 years!

In with you Dekin!

What a great opportunity for the Deac's and for Quinshad...if he looks closely he will see a program on the cusp of another run and led by a "still 19 year old QB" with one solid game of "cowbell" under his belt :)

Crump at possession/interior will draw lots of looks while Quinshad and Mike Williams create size/speed problems outside.

Quinshad was named Wide Receiver of the Year at the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl last week.

Hope Davis isn't stringing us along.

I think we're at the point in this class that we can tolerate that stuff. We only have 3-4 scholarships left to give, and I think the staff will be comfortable trying to go big with those couple schollies. Since we have so much of the class already in the fold, we can afford to be "strung along," if that's what's happening.

I do wish we could get Quinshad to commit early and end this process, but it is his right to take his visits and make the best decision possible. I see his last visit is to Ole Miss the weekend before signing day. That one has me more worried than UT for some reason.

Looks like we may be in the running for another QB in this class............Steve Donatell from Colorado. 6' 5" 195 and has an offer from Nebraska.
Per article on tos Steve Russ played for his father in the pros so there's a connection. Also said that if qb doesn't work out, he may play WR, TE, LB. Must be a pretty good athlete.

Since we took Cameron, we're recruiting Donatell as an ATH. We'll give him a shot as a QB, but I imagine he switches.
