If Bz was to go

I thought we would win 11-12 games, looks like we will win 12-13. I don't consider that to be wildly offbase. I will go double or nothing on 13.5 wins right now if you're confident in Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz

haha. Don't think so. Nobody makes bets at 11.5 if you think you are going to win 11-12 games. Not unless you are an idiot.

If we win 15 games, Bzd has done a great job
If we win 14 games, Bzd has done a good job
If we win 13 games, Bzd has done okay
If we win 12 games, Bzd saves his job but team collapsed on him again and nobody is happy
If we win 11 games, Bzd saves his job for another year

Lol too bad for Buzz the people with influence are not following this arbitrary standard and are instead following "the list."

Wait and see. If he goes ofer or wins only 1 from here on out... Bye bye.

And to the people who think a firing after 2 years would steer off other candidates; I think that's absurd.

With any 'good job' comes standards of performance.

I doubt there's any coach in America (that we'd want, anyway) who wouldn't objectively look at the results of the past two years and understand that they do not align with what should be accepted at Wake Forest University.

The high-profile two year firings that quickly come to mind for me are Gillespie at UK and Turner Gill this year at Kansas, replaced by Charlie Weis who at least is a high-profile name that is appeasing the alumni right now. Point being, a firing that quickly is usually replaced by a splashy right-the-ship hire.

If Wellman does pull the trigger this year, he better have something already locked down before the announcement since he's effectively doubling down on his legacy at that point.

And with as little as we've brought in on basketball this year, and as much as the football coaching staff is making, I'm not sure who from our list we would be able to afford.

I do suspect that freeing up some cash may have been part of the impetus behind canning a few of the football assistants (Billings) in favor of younger/cheaper options.

If we don't win the games we are supposed to, Bzzz is gone this year.

Maybe Wellman has passed this along to Bzzz and it's the reason he refered to the first BC game as our "Superbowl"?

Gotta love the Bzinners setting the bar for good or great so low.

At BC was his ACCT Thursday. Clemson will ACCT Friday.

If we win 15 games, Bzd has done a great job BELOW AVERAGE JOB
If we win 14 games, Bzd has done a good job JOB SAVING JOB
If we win 13 games, Bzd has done okay BAD JOB
If we win 12 games, Bzd saves his job but team collapsed on him again and nobody is happy UNACCEPTABLE JOB
If we win 11 games, Bzd saves his job for another year
SHOULD BE FIRED ON THE SPOT DURING THE POST GAME INTERVIEW.

So basically, Bz gets the credit if the team has what you consider a good season and the team gets the blame ("team collapsed on him again") if we have what you consider an underperforming season?

I wondered about that too. Can't have freed up all that much though.

TEBOW HIMSELF COULDN'T WIN 16 GAMES WITH THIS ROSTER

There might be some truth to that. Given that, what would you consider a fair amount of time to give Bz to turn things around? Two more years? Anyone know how long his initial contract was for? If it was for three years and Wellman offered him one more year after next year (to see if he can turn things around) I wonder if Bz would feel insulted. Meanwhile, ticket sales will continue to plummet. Enthusiasm for Wake bball is at an all time low and is only going to get worse. These guys coming in better be incredible.

You people aren't reall this stupid are you? You're just letting off steam I suppose. There's gonna be a sliding scale on expectations every year for the next three years. 15 wins for this year is a huge success. Insert bold tyPe here

Read the threads on expectations at the beginning of the year. Short memories fellas. Next year I believe the expectation will be bubble and the year after that 22+ wins and tourney success.

These threads have an ugly air of angry mob. Nothing more. If it gets you through the day so be it but maybe try hitting the gym at lunch or something

Anyone who says winning 15 games with this squad is a "below average job" is so totally blinded by hatred of the coach that nothnig he/she says should ever be read by anyone.

Such statements show a boundless ignorance and an irrationality that is staggering.

But how do I really feel about it?
