Bz: "I think you're asking the wrong person."

Coach [Redacted] has the only support he needs, and this fact ain't changing anytime soon.

This is the stuff that I really don't like reading on here without some sort of substantiating evidence.

To me; there are two totally objective things you can look at from the outside to gauge a coach's job performance:

1- W-L's & overall competitiveness (based on scores)
2- Attendance (measurable fan-support. and if you're including anyone wearing carolina blue for the UNC game, we're not thinking about the same #)

I don't know where the numbers ended up, but the most recent Buzz-out poll (which included a 'wait-and-see' option) was upwards of 90% wanting to see him immediately fired after about 100 votes...

Just whose support (that he needs) does he continue to have? Again, legitimately asking.

I find it hard to believe that the money coming in (tickets, game-day revenues, apparel sales, donations, etc) is improving; but if it is... show us.... That's the easiest 'inside' way (that I can think of, at least) to prove support, shy of allowing direct access to the inner-workings of the program.

What is Wellman (currently) saying or not saying about the situation? I legitimately don't know, so I'll ask... has RW made any post-game appearances on the radio show this year?

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out his connections.

It does take someone spending brain power on learning the organizational structure of the University opposed to spending it on trying to bang Salem chicks and figure out how I'm going to afford my next case of busch light. Because I honestly have no idea who that's referring to.

Board of trustees/visitors most likely

Salem chicks must have been a little hotter when you went to Wake.

Can you enlighten me on their role, kinda like a board of directors? What powers do they have? Any literature out there on everyone's powers at the university?

Complete and overarching power as far as I can gather. They can certainly fire any employee they want.

So basically the board of trustees has agreed to fire Buzz if he goes winless here on out but if he wins 1 game he's safe?

Seems an unusual thing for 11 people to agree on.

They don't have to all agree on it. Furthermore, I'd imagine that, like with most boards, most members go along with what a few key members say.

Hello, I had no idea what you posted. I just thought your reaction to the neg rep was ridiculous, especially when you added the tagline to the criticism.

That's fair, I stand by my decision to let whoever sent that out know that I wasn't trying to be condescending, just informative.

But I'm not going to RJKarl the focus of the topic anymore. The fact of the matter is I'm pretty sure that complete and embarrassing failure will cause the powers-that-be to react in a proper fashion. Clemson was one of those games. GT this week is another one of those games.

I support your verb usage.

Not trying to hide the ball. My reference was to Mr. Wellman. It doesn't really seem like he is accountable to anyone. Mr. Wellman has not made anything but supportive comments about [Redacted] (I think this is to be expected). Also - I do not believe that he has made a radio appearance this season (but I could be wrong). I guess it is possible that his silence might be indicative of reduced support - but I doubt it.

I bet there is a player or two that would like to pimp slap Bzz after watching that interview. If we still had some of the other players...that might of happened.

I have had season tickets to Wake Basketball for the past 39 years, and have never lived in the State of North Carolina. I have had floor seats for basketball the past two seasons. Even in the Bob Staak era, I had some level of hope and there was some level of enthusiasm. This debacle called Jeff [Redacted] was a joke from the beginning and continues to be a disaster of unprecedented proportions. I tried to go to games last year, hoping [Redacted] would prove me wrong and I might start to see some redeeming characteristics. This year, for the first time in 39 years, I have missed a number of games, and have been glad I missed each of them. The fan base has eroded, the student support is non-existent, the media knows [Redacted] is in way over his head, and many of us have become apathetic for the first time ever. [Redacted]'s interviews are insulting to fans and the team. I feel sorry for our assistant coaches and our players for having to work and play under this dufus. Ron Wellman recently sent me a rather lengthy email which continued to reassure me that [Redacted] is the right guy for the job and he is doing all the right things. I hear what Ron Wellman is saying, but I see what I see. And I see a once proud program being quickly turned into a laughing stock and a mockery. [Redacted]'s combined records and futility at Colorado and Wake Forest speak for themselves. Hopefully there will be action taken by some level of authority to end this hideous two year chapter and get someone in here who has some charisma, some enthusiasm, and some credibility. And maybe this time we will have a legitimate search committee as opposed to a unilateral decision to bring in a friend to change the culture.

Great post, Deke 73. Thanks for your dedication as a fan.

Now do you think you could maybe post that e-mail from Wellman?

Thanks for your input and commitment. Well said.

This is true. ^^^^ He has been a Buzzwaitandsee. I think like many waitandsees, he cannot tolerate much more of this God awful pathetic display of bball.

AZ, thanks for the try, but just because you have known me for over a decade and can read what I say, it won't help.

The hate-filled obsessives could care less about the truth.
