Should We Hang CP3?

In the case of CP, I would not retire his number. Jersey retirement is for accomplishments while at Wake ONLY. CP was a great player at Wake and may very well end up as the greatest point guard to ever play here. But, he was only here 2 years and had few concrete accomplishments, beyond his individual awards.

Personally I would be in favor of a rule requiring that a player play at Wake at least 3 years to have his number retired. Future great players who play 1 or 2 years before going pro could have their jerseys honored, in rare instances...

Why 3 years?

If you're going to make that type of rule then it should be that only players who have graduated can have their numbers retired.

Still waiting for keeper to come up with yet another rule to explain why Howard's jersey shouldn't be retired according to his previous rules.

His Wake profile says Sociology, but good chance it's wrong. Can't find anything on his web site about his major.

No I didn't say take it down. Nor did I say take down retired jerseys. I'm just giving my opinion of who should be in the rafters. Just an exchange of ideas here.

I wouldnt. The large majority of people realized how great CP was. Many were comparing him to Isiah Thomas. Some were saying he could go down as one of the best point guards to ever play the game. There were only a few idiots who were saying he wasnt ready for the league and whining about how he needed to stay another year. I guess you were one of them.
 
amazing 5 page thread where everyone agrees to hang/retire it but keeper continues to bump it to the top
