Basketball Recruiting Megathread 1.0 has run its course

I really think we're going to get more out of Cav than people think. He looks like a really solid player with a body size slightly bigger than Nikita.

Do all states in the country allow bad teams in the playoffs now like NC does. I don't remember us doing this when I was a kid, but I may be mistaken. How do 7-19 teams deserve to go to the state playoffs?

My high school football team (only 2 wins) made it to the state playoffs, lost in the first round.

My HS South Stokes is in the same conference as West Stokes who belongs in 2A not hybrid conference and Winston Salem Prep who is 26-1. They went 15-11 and won their first round game tonight as the #5 seed against a team that is 7-19.

Yea the NC playoff system is so dumb. A team that would be 7-19 or something like that is probably one of maybe 2 teams in a conference that is all 2A teams so they make it like they are a 1 or 2 seed out of the conference, resulting in the crazy seedings. Just trying to make more money.

I can't speak for all states, but Massachusetts has all teams with a .500 or greater record play in the playoffs. Indiana is on the NC system from what I recall.

Video of Moto was cool. check out where he drives from the left side and then dunks it left handed. I'm excited about Cavanaugh too. I think he is very similar to Ryan Kelly and should get some good minutes towards end of next year. CMM, CJ, Mckie, Cav and Thomas would be 4 very capable shooters out to 3 point line (all of which can drive to an extent) and hopefully an interior scorer too. Bzz would have some offensive options then.

I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe Thomas can shoot threes nor would I
want him to do that.

He seems to like to play in the blocks. Let's keep him there.

Haha read it again, he said we'd have 4 players that could shoot threes with that lineup on the court. Thomas is the exception, I'd imagine.

I only laugh because I initially read it the same way for some reason.

My bad.....I misread it.

If Travis and CJ rest at the same time we could have a team that goes 6'2, 6'9, 6'7, 6'8, 6'9.

Sounds like it. Matt Howard (SC) is another backup option. I guess RJ Curington falls somewhere in there, too.

Overton has visited Virginia, not sure if they have offered though. Looks like someone to keep an eye on if we can't get Reed or Robinson. Reed is probably the top target though.

According to Aaron's twitter, Greenfield won their round of 16 game by 60+. Should be a decent step up in competition in the quarterfinal game, which is Thursday morning. They'll be heavily favored until the final though.
