Coliseum is far too small, no places to stay or eat nearby, and not close to any of the campuses. Poor attendance over the years as well. GSO is a terrible choice.
The ACC was created in Greensboro and that is one of the main reasons why they want to keep it there. But if you want to look at it from a ticket sales POV, Duke and UNC are just down the road and Greensboro will sell twice the tickets to the entire weekend than any other site.
Great stats from the 2001 ACCT there JD. Because today's ACC and economy match that of 2001.

I cant believe anybody is defending having the thing in Atlanta over Greensboro. Nobody goes when its in Atlanta. They had to move it out of the Georgia Dome because of how ridiculously empty the place was, maybe it will look a little bit better in Phillips.

I didn't realize Charlotte and Atlanta were near Maryland
Once the rest of the expansion occurs DC would make sense as an option.
In 2009 158,112 fans attended the ACC Tournament held in the Georgia Dome.
In 2011 140,286 fans attended the ACC Tournament held in the Greensboro Coliseum.
they had it in dc when CP3 was suspended for the nut punch. pretty sure attendance was terrible, also md lost in the first round.
