FSU/Clemson to Big 12? Demise of ACC?

What do you expect the Clemson BOT to say? If a better offer came to me at work, I'd listen.

Clemson wants to feel self-important.

This. Clemson needs to get over themselves, they are located in South fuckin' Carolina. The same state that is considered a long, annoying ass pit stop in between the states of North Carolina and Georgia.

Clemson and F$U have no shot at the SEC. Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, and some other school vote against it as a block I can't remember.

UGA, USC and UF are supposedly in a pact to block FSU Clemson and GT from ever getting in the SEC.

Realize that this would never happen, but if the SEC made an offer to WF to join (with VT as the 15th and 16th members of the SEC), would you recommend that WF accept?

isn't it about time to change the thread title? currently possible, but not invevitable.

Would be too busy buying canned goods for the shelter to reply.

Here is the easiest way to answer this question.

First, WFU acts like the invitation is no big deal.

I don't think we would fit in the SEC. Basketball would suck without playing the Big 4 schools ever. Football would have a hard to competing. Nobody cares about soccer.

We are in the correct conference for us right now.

I know this insufferable douchejuice of a F$U fan (he loves Tampa teams too, ugh, just the worst) and he's been talking about this move for a year.

I love it when I'm around and he starts talking it up, I just say they're tired of getting beat by the Deacs and want to run away.

Impossible since all our fans are great.

4. Embrace the SEC in scheduling: Four members of the ACC already play annual nonconference games against the SEC: Georgia Tech-Georgia, Clemson-South Carolina, Florida State-Florida, Wake Forest-Vanderbilt. Trust me when I tell you that despite its recently announced alliance with the Big 12, the SEC would like for more of its members to play nonconference games against the ACC. It makes scheduling easier and gives both leagues nonconference games that make sense geographically. Given the success of the SEC, playing those teams (and beating them) would give the ACC more street cred than playing USC and Stanford.
Don't get hung up whether or not you're helping the SEC. The fans would love these games.

I'm not sure what other games would be a good match besides UNC or State vs. Tennessee and VT vs. Bama or Auburn and that second one is a stretch. BC, Cuse, Pitt vs. any SEC would be a headscratcher and nobody would care about Maryland or UVa vs. Kentucky.

unc is going to play SCar a few times in the coming years. We were going to play UT but they backed out.

Georgia - Clemson

GT - Auburn

Two HUGE rivalries that most people don't know about.

I definitely think its time for the ACC to approach ND.

Yeah. I was thinking one-on-one end of the year matchups. UNC or State vs. South Carolina is good another time in the year.

The ACC has been approaching ND for years now, heck maybe even since Natty O got hired. ND vs. ACC games have increased.

In your defense, you are a great poster and i have many F$U friends who are not douchejuicy...

My dad went to F$U and I've never been bothered with them. They were like an older brother all the other ACC schools looked up to. But things have changed since we started beating them. Insecurities have been exposed.

At last year's game I sat behind a nole who simply could not stop talking. Got kicked out, which killed me because I wanted to see his face at the final gun.
