Exactly my point - if the Big XII expansion is to go through because of the possible increase in their already existing deal I see them much more likely to gobble up a BYU, which has a very broad appeal in the Western US.
I suspect, however, that this new deal with FOX and ESPN is predicated on the conference getting to 12 teams in the next few years and holding a championship game - so they're pulling in the hype now even though when you split the money 12 ways the deal isn't really better than the ACC's deal (depending on your Tier 3 rights, of course)
