Do Infants Belong In Movies?

Too busy running multiple NCAA online dynasties?

naa I only run the one bo. The offline dynasties suck so much in comparison I cannot even play them. So the only time I play the game is our ps3 dynasty on here.

I have bolded the part where you put your needs above everyone else's, thus proving you think you are special.

Also, how is taking your kid to the theater "getting away"? The kid is still with you.

YOU JUST SAID the kid was a shitshow "the whole movie." What did you do about it? Or was it a mostly empty theater so you were only annoying a few people so no biggie?

For the Chipmunks it was an empty theater no one in there but us.

Do you expect people to ask the ticket attendant "how many people are in this showing?" before they decide whether or not to go to the movie with their infant?
Babies do not have a place in the theater. If you can't afford a sitter, you shouldn't be 'affording' movie tickets, either. Simple as that....and yes, it really is THAT simple.

This is silly. If you're going to a Tuesday at 1:00 showing 2 or 3 weeks after the movie comes out, you know there's not going to be many people there.

My daughter's first movie was Toy Story 3, so I guess she had just turned 3. She did a great job, but I expected that. We've taken her out to decent to nice restaurants since she was an infant, but only because we know that she could handle it and that if she started getting loud or bothering other people, we would immediately take her outside (which we never had to resort to.) The point is, I don't think you can make a blanket statement about no infants in movies or restaurants or wherever at any time, because some kids (and more importantly parents) can handle it. However, there are a lot of people that just don't have any respect or consideration for other people and don't care what they do, like bringing unruly kids to an inappropriate movie or talking /using a phone during a movie. I would normally say those people should be shot, but the timing is really bad for that.

Good sensible post.

We've taken my 3 year old to the last 3 Pixar movies on opening night, Toy Story 3 at 1, Cars 2 at 2, and Brave at 3. He did pretty well at Toy Story 3. He sat in our laps and watched the first part of the movie, took a short nap in the middle, and watched the end. Didn't have to leave and change him at all. Now it's one of his favorite movies.

He sat at the edge of his seat for Cars 2 and behaved very well. Thankfully, he hasn't wanted to see that again.

He got a little chatty and squirmy during Brave. He asked questions about the characters. Hilariously, about 2/3 of the way through, he got up out of his chair and said, "OK, let's go!" and started walking out. He just didn't like the movie that much.

What gets me about these movie threads is the seeming inability of Pit posters to just sit down and watch a freaking movie. It blows my mind how some of you get distracted by every little thing going on around you. On one hand, it's "Oh the movie's too loud for infants" but somehow a child crying somehow ruins it for you. The movie is on a huge screen yet people are bothered by others' cell phones. I don't go to a ton of movies, but I can't remember ever been distracted the way you all are.

Anyway James, I am done trying to explain your logical fallacies to you.

Dude, don't pull out the "YOU'RE NOT A PARENT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND" crap. That shit is sooooo condescending.

Not trying to be. But ask a lot of people your idea of parenthood and the reality of it are usually much different.

Probably because you're busy talking the whole time.

Aren't you the idiot that thinks airplane seat kicking is inevitable? Of course you can't understand the above, you're oblivious to everything but your little shithead and your petty little self-absorbed life. (my apologies if you are not, in fact, said idiot).

Have you ever been cooped up for a period of time and wasn't able to get out?

Have you ever been cooped up for a period of time and wasn't able to get out?

And now you are trying to justify it. So what you are saying is that it is ok to place your needs above the needs of others if you have been cooped up for awhile. That's good to know. *Special Thinking*.

But yes, I have been.

Why don't you read the thread and see who I am for yourself and then continue the discussion on that thread? No need to be a douche if you don't have to be.

I DO NOT think I am special in anyway, but I do occasionally feel like I need some me time sorry for that.

I went and checked and you are said idiot. And it's relevant to your perspective on this thread. You were already thoroughly sonned on that one anyway.

And so do the other people in the theater that your brat is enraging.

Must not have read the right thread, bro.
