Sounds about right. I looked it up and we average a little over 15 turnovers in our losses and 14 per game overall so that was less of a bellwether stat than I assumed, but did notice that UVA had 5 turnovers in that game so that obviously helped.

Curious to see if Duke goes back to hunting Williamson. He's not big enough to defend their guards. Replacing him with Monsanto leaves us perilously thin on ball handling, though. I didn't see the UVA game, but the same obviously applies to Clark and that didn't prove insurmountable.

Definitely. And while this is the best defense I've seen from a Wake Forest team in I don't know how long, limiting turnovers would obviously help there, too. Honestly I'm surprised at how well the defense has held up with the high turnover rate.

Holy crap! What's this long-forgotten sensation I'm feeling regarding Wake hoops? Damn, it's been a while since I felt this level of optimism. I wrongly assumed Wake was going to make a bland, uninspiring hire. Credit to Currie and all involved for proving me wrong and making a really strong hire!

Yeah, pretty clear Forbes had no chance based on his prior recruiting penalty. It's insane that Wake could throw all that money at Danny Manning and not find a way to go big for Matta, Anthony Grant, etc., but somehow I find that totally believable.

Any chance Anthony Grant is available? Can't really see it, but he's losing Obi Toppin next year. He's actually older than Thad Matta, which is pretty wild. Is Wake a better job than Dayton right now? Yikes.

The question isn't whether Wake should take Thad Matta, it's why he'd come to Wake..Fun tidbit: Matta had 21 wins in his second-to-last season at Ohio State. The last time Wake had that many wins was 2008-2009, and we've had two seasons with that many wins in the last 16 years.
