I think there was a recruit catcher out of FL a few years ago that got drafted and never came to Wake. Edit: Looked it up - Jackson Miller. Drafted w/ the 65th pick in the 2020 draft.

Sadly - that may be true. Starting pitching that really shrunk the bullpen needs. Combined with hitting/run scoring that rarely required late inning strategy.

I mean - did he think we needed a HR in that situation? And not just a single run ... against a team that had just made 2 errors? Outside of a .500 hitter, what type of hitter would you want there? Someone that makes contact and puts pressure on the defense with speed. Instead, he sends up...

Token disclaimer that we have more than half of the season left, so things can certainly improve; however, .... we started the year with 5 All Americans, and right now Burns is the only one of those that has even played at an All ACC level.

Honestly - the decision to PH Katz there may be the dumbest decision I've ever seen a manager make. Bases loaded - down one - UNC has just made two errors, so they have to be a little a nervous on any contact. You've got probably the fastest guy on the team and a pretty good contact hitter...
