2024 Wake Baseball Thread: What Did We Do To Deserve This?

Thought about researching if this has happened before. Will probably do that tonight to have it in the back pocket.

Isn’t there a stat with national champs finishing last in the sec the next year or something like that.

Seems the lab has screwed up Hartle. He's pitching much worse than last year.

Hartle made some tweaks and they didn’t work. He’s been a hell of a lot better the last two weeks.

Not good at pitching
Not good at hitting
Not good at base running
Not good at catcher
Not good at in-game coaching

Did I miss anything?
Very very very poor baseball IQ and zero killer instinct. But what’s new?
We seem to have those issues in every big 3 sport.

How is Hartle a 1st round pick when his fastball sits at 89? Changeup is like 84 so it’s not even a big difference

Obviously a great play by Honeycutt but that Williams hit feels like a microcosm of the season. Just two feet short.

Second least enjoyable baseball team to watch after the Seymour, Lanzilli, team of a few years back. This really sucks.

Not the whole problem - but not being able to get through the 5th (again) is not good. Next thing you know we're having to use 5 plus relievers. All of who've been sketchy throughout the season
This one had to do more with pitch count than anything tonight. But yeah, once it got to the bullpen, it got bad relatively quickly.

Obviously disappointing to lose all of these ACC weekends against ranked opponents with all of the high praise going into the season. However, college baseball is all about who is hot at the end of the season. Hopefully wake stops making it harder on themselves and at least plays well enough to host a regional.

Kind of looking like Muscara and the pitching lab may not be as popular a podcast topic this coming off-season.
