There are reports on the UGA board of Newman and family being on the UGA campus today.

That all comes from a UGA writer interviewing the HS coach in Graham who told him that Newman's made his decision. UGA people are understandably optimistic (those who want Newman, anyway) that this corresponds nicely with Fromm's announcement.

I agree with your conclusion about Manning going, but I disagree about Currie. He wasn't in a position to say no. If we said to him "The job is yours, but you've got Manning for at least another year" he still would have run to sign the contract before we could change our minds.

I think part of his point is that he’s been lobbying for this for 20 years. It was much less of a pipe dream in 1995 than it is now, and yet nothing was done by the administration. Y’all beat him up a lot on this issue, but I happen to think he’s right.
