2018-2019 NHL Thread – Thunderstorm Warning

Kuzy will try pretty much anything on the ice.

The Canes finally called up the players they should have called up two months ago and they’re predictably tearing it up at the NHL level.

McLovin sure has looked good for them, as has Zykov. Of course Darling had to ruin it with another night of rebound shots peppering the net...

The Blues stay hot with an OT victory over San Jose - their sixth straight win. They also ended the Sharks (another team turning it on for the playoff push) 8 game winning streak.

File this under mildly interesting:

Washington in a goalie quandry. Their recent hot goalie is now nicked up and will miss some games. The other wasn't playing well lately, but was early in the season. What's a coach to do?

All of this sinking my young avs spirit...goodbye colorado playoffs

Dude is a legend.

Also, Crosby pots another absolutely insane goal last night. He’s been a highlight reel recently.

One week left! Here's a playoff projection with help from Sports Club Stats (bold teams are locked in to their seed):

Nashville
St. Louis

Winnipeg
Minnesota
--
Vegas
Los Angeles

San Jose
Anaheim
-----
Boston
New Jersey

Tampa Bay
Toronto
--
Washington
Columbus

Pittsburgh
Philadelphia

Realistically, the top 8 in the East are decided - it's just sorting out the seeding. In the West, you've got the Blues and Avs fighting to avoid last-team-out status.

I'd be down for those matchups. Lotta fun to be had in VGK-LA, MIN-WPG, TB-TOR, WSH-CBJ and PIT-Philly.

If it winds up being PIT-CBJ will be interesting to see if the BJs finally put up a fight

The Blue Jackets are peaking now. If Bobrovsky can be Bobrovsky and the forwards continue to play at a high level, this will be a great series. Also, the Seth Jones Zach Werenski pairing is among the best in the league. Add former Penguin Ian Cole to the mix and we have an interesting storyline. This series won't go less than 6 games if it happens.
