Pretty much.

Pursuit of power has trumped honesty, decency, integrity for GOP leadership for a good while before the rise of Trump. His success in ruling the right would never have been possible had the right not been made ready to accept and embrace him. Yes, it was dishonest GOP leadership that nourished a fantastic, fear-based mythology now heartily embraced by the base…and increasingly a number of dumb-as-shit leaders.

The GOP is a cancer at this point. If Trump dropped dead today of natural causes, the GOP would still be a huge hazardous clusterfuck.
