It always seems as if Republicans who claim that they might (might!) consider voting Democratic if the Democrats only didn't nominate "radicals" and chose candidates they could support almost invariably want Democrats to become little more than Republican Lite. "If only Democrats would become just like Republicans I might consider voting for them!"
 
Oh no doubt I was trying to figure out who jhmd and the fellas are rallying around since they aren’t onboard with all the popular GOP fundraisers and rising stars that 80% of the GOP believe are right about the election.
 
They pretend to have disdain for this “liberal echo chamber” but they still need to save face by pretending they aren’t on the Trump train with the vast majority of their party.

So they are now completely a party that only cares about dragging the entire country backward to the 1950s (or more likely the TV sitcom image of that decade) when gays were still in the closet and homosexuality was still considered a form of mental illness, transgenderism publicly didn't exist, mandatory Christian prayers were still said in schools every morning, and whites still made up 85% of the population. And, of course, to use government to bully, persecute, and cause suffering among those people and groups they don't like (or just fear). Of course, this was obvious when in the 2020 campaign the GOP - for the first time in its history - did not create a platform of its beliefs for the campaign, but just reused its 2016 platform and added to it that they supported pretty much whatever Trump wanted. Culture wars forever, baby!
 
“Culture wars not policy” obscures the fact that GOP policies grave bern about consolidating power, consolidating wealth, or culture wars for a long time.
 
Culture wars are just their way of consolidating wealth and power. The rank and file just don't realize they are being used. Focusing on culture wars makes them FEEL like they are winners though its always at someone else's expense. That's a feature of course.

Clarence Thomas was the lone justice who would have granted Trump's request.

That tells me his wife is implicated.
