2022 Atlanta Braves Season Thread: off season decisions loom

Its baseball. 3 games can flip in one weekend. plenty of baseball left to play. Just gotta keep winning.

ChrisL with the call as Mets lose again and 3 outs away for one game separating us within 18 hours of the fretting. Now we just have to sweat another possible Jansen choke. You know Snit will pitch him as such a Bobby cox thing to do to show confidence in a reliever.

Also should be noted Scherzer exited yesterdays game after only 5 innings and 67 pitches from fatigue on left side, so he might see reduced games/innings over next few weeks to rest him for postseason which adds further intrigue to the home stretch.

Guessing Yates to close given the big lead now…

Crazy that we gained 0 games while the Mets played the Dodgers but have picked up 3 while they play the Nats and Pirates.

hooefully the 'rates can win one of the dh today and one in ny.

Hopefully just a one-off weird outing for Wright - he's been so good this year, and need his confidence high going into the postseason.

Soroka has looked dominant in the minors. I've said it before but Fried, Morton, Soroka, Wright, Strider is the deepest 5 man rotation in the majors, maybe by far, with Anderson and Odorizzi as possibilities (read, bullpen) as well. Good times to be a Brave fan. Snit just needs to pick the hot hands.

Gottleib: my bad, I made that thing up about the agent not telling Freeman about the Braves' best offer

The final difference in contracts between the Dodgers and Braves was a 6th year at the average $27 million. (Braves offered 5 years at $27 million per year; Dodgers 6 years at $27 million per year)
