2022 College Football Coaching Carousel

He played safety. He called defensive signals. He prob could coach DBs.
 
Being a DB is what he did in college. Being an offensive assistant/coordinator is his career.
 
He was the OC at Michigan and Miami and something like an assist or co-OC at Bama. He’s not going to coach defense.

Yeah. Clawson was a DB in college and spent exactly one season 31 years ago as a defensive assistant. Every other gig has been as an offensive coach or HC. Gattis isn't coming to Wake to coach DBs for $100k/year.
 
Gattis isn’t even coming to Wake to be a coordinator. Can’t take the pay cut.

Agree that he isn't coming to Wake... But he might be looking for work soon. And wherever he ends up, he won't be getting paid that U money.

Agreed. Bronco has 2 losing season in 17 years as a head coach, both at UVA, and even there he made it to the Orange Bowl. Petersen and Bronco both have to say no before Stanford reaches out to Clawson.

Mendenhall is probably too overtly religious for Stanford, and probably vice-versa. They just openly mocked the mormon church view on LBGT during their last game which offended BYU folks.
 
Heard a good podcast with Clawson and Bronco. They really seem to be friends. Not sure how that plays into it. Also not sure what him just leaving UVA means. Also, not sure the East Coast is his jam??
