2022 College Football Coaching Carousel

9 years is a long time.

Hire coach Ken N. On our defense to help us defend future games vs. Army, Navy etc

He can also teach tackling, very well.

This is one area where the plan of no live tackling might be useful. Sophisticated tackling dummies can take a lot more reps of tackling punishment than other players. Get the defense to really learn proper tackling technique.

Dartmouth has used ...
a "specially designed 'mobile virtual player' that moves across the field the way a player would." Instead of doing live tackling in practice. Whole Ivy league is going that way next season.

Wake might be see benefits from having fewer nicks, bumps and bruises later in the season if the coaches adopted this.

Navy AD says they will only hire people with Triple Option experience. Seems short sighted to me.

seems like a slow mesh RPO is a offense that could work at an academy. (Not saying Claws, but the offense)

Wake has a difficult time getting O-line guys who can hold pass blocks effectively. It would be worse for service academies. Without that, the slow mesh RPO won't work.

The triple option involves getting the D-line to commit and running where they don't go. The O-line only needs to influence block, not stone the D-line.

Leach is admittedly on my mind, but I feel like the air raid has been used successfully by a lot of teams that struggle to recruit. The big issue compared to the triple option is that it prolongs the game while the triple option speeds it up and minimizes opponent possessions (obvious exception is us putting up 70 on Army last year but they had to score 55 for that to occur).

From ESPN:

"Walters the third Black coach hired in the FBS this season, joining Deion Sanders and Western Michigan's Lance Taylor. " Walters played at Colorado, and was candidate for the Buffs' job until they hired Deion.

Brohm is good but I am very happy Satterfield is out of the ACC. Clawson thinks very highly of Satterfield and I trust Clawson’s opinion on coaches more than anyone here. Other than a late FG ‘21 win, Satterfield owns Clawson.

‘Ruined’ may be too strong of a word, but Satterfield ruined our promising ‘19 and ‘22 seasons. Both years we entered the Louisville game with massive expectations and both years we left deflated and unable to regain momentum for the season.

Navy names their DC Brian Newberry as HC. While the Navy D was excellent this year, was unaware that the Newberry was about to move on, so the move is essentially is an attempt at addition by subtraction by dumping Coach Ken.

Coach Ken had one more year on his contract, so Navy will play him to do nothing while the former DC runs the program.

This was stupid all around. They said they’d only hire someone with triple option experience so their options were basically nothing.

Keep in mind A&M's DC is DJ Durkin aka the former coach of Maryland who killed one of his players. What a loveable bunch they are down in College Station.
