2024 PGA Tour thread

Zalatoris was just on PGA radio and said he told his parents earlier this week that the coordination and logistics around this event were not very good.
I knew it would be bad. There is just one 4 lane road (Shelbyville Rd) to get in and out of Valhalla. I live right off Shelbyville Road about 5 miles from Valhalla and the area has exploded in growth the last 5 years. Traffic is awful during a normal week so everyone knew this would be more than the city could handle.

It was bad in 2008 when they hosted the Ryder Cup and apparently has only gotten worse since then. Just because you CAN cram 50,000+ people on property every day, doesn't mean you actually should do it, but those running the event only have $$$ in their heads when making those decisions.

Total mismanagement by the police, the club, and the PGA. Other players had gotten past the roadblock with no problem just minutes before Sheffler was arrested. The PGA and the club should have been out front communicating with police about the urgency of getting players through the gate. If Sheffler had the correct credential on his car he should have been waved through with minimal delay. If he didn't, then that's more than likely on him. Regardless, Valhalla the the LPD have egg on their faces. And the DA has to make a choice now to decide whether to prosecute Sheffler or try to get him to plead to some bullshit traffic charge.

Stories from yesterday about when the PGA Championship could return to Louisville. I didn't realize that the PGA had sold the course to local investors two years ago. LOL:

Maybe they should have social workers directing traffic instead of cops !

Scheffler should have called Rory's soon-to-be-ex to drive him to the course.

I'm a back the blue guy, but there are also officers with an attitude. I understand sometimes they need that attitude for some of situations they go into and not knowing what's going on, but this does not sound like one of those situations. Be interesting if Scottie decides to bring a lawsuit.
Scottie is more likely to win the tournament and donate a portion to Louisville PD. It was reported that not once did he say “Do you know who I am”.

So did Pat Kelsey run over with DR to see what all the hubbub’s about or did DR run off on his own

Hahahaha I wish I could have seen the officer’s face once this question got answered

This totally cracks me up because I think I saw them when I was dropping my son off at school which is over by Valhalla. I noticed two dudes walking in golf gear and thought "man, I can't believe these guys are walking in the rain to the course." I thought it was a bit early for fans but assumed it was a couple of them on their way.

Yep, for the police department's sake, they picked on the one of the guy's least likely to make a huge deal over it.

Non-Scottie comment, it's crazy how much of a Mickelson fan I used to be, but loathe him so much now.
