it’s not steep at all, there are 10 series — if we go 1-2 every series we already have 11 wins.

eta: we talk about what a disaster the season has been (no disagreement here), but we are still 27th in rpi.
 
Kind of under the radar with other issues this weekend, but Winnay in a bit of a slump right now.
 
If Massey can really only go three innings, we should move him to the pen to follow Burns. At least then we should win one game. And Sunday just throw shit at the fan and see what happens.

Or follow up Hartle in a sort of Seth Keener role. They seem to want to groom him to start but is the pitch count going to be an issue all season. Sunday starts quite frankly are a bit of a waste if all we have left is Sunday bullpen arms. Maybe that is where Wade comes in. I hope the coaching staff is looking at all options. Also for someone who knows more than me, how do you balance what is best for the player draft and career wise and what is best for the team now?
 
Nick! Good to see him thinking opposite field lately. When hitters slump that's generally the best strategy to get out of it.

Would much rather have Massey throw 30 pitches each on Friday and Saturday than 60 on Sunday. Like doesn’t really do us that much good to get 10 outs on Sunday. If he follows Hartle yesterday maybe we win that.

This is actually a good thought. That said, do we have anyone who can go a few innings on Sunday against elite talent every Sunday?

No, but we are gonna win very few games when our bullpen has to pitch 6 innings anyway. Not like them having to pitch 9 lowers our win probability by any significant amount. And him following a solid start from Burns/Hartle does increase our win probability .
