About that "World's Best Healthcare System" the U.S. is supposed to have...

They are almost all the result of one person being forced to pay another person's bills. I would not expect the HHS to discover that.

Maybe Townie can rid us of TJ the way he took down RJ.

Briefs in the Burwell case for the Obama administration rely heavily on quotes from Scalia's dissent from the original ACA case to show that all justices believed that the subsidy language extended quite broadly. Pretty funny/smart.

"This is partly due to the improved medical care and that we are also living about eight years longer. Also the increased use of insurance has probably increased demand for services and the provider's fear of litigation has resulted in expanded use of tests and more treatments."

From the editor's opinion section of your link. Just stop dude.

How much was an MRI in 1960? (1971)
How much was a liver transplant in 1960? (1963)
How much was effective chemotherapy in 1960? (1965)
How much was an effective artificial heart transplant in 1960? (1982)
How much was a metalic hip replacement in 1960? (1973)
How much was an effective ACL surgery in 1960? (1969)

Those are fairly expensive procedures/drugs that didn't f'ing exist in 1960. Seriously, just stop.

Every industry makes advances in 55 years. Computers don't cost 20x what they did in 1960 although they are much better. Same for every other industry I can think of. One interesting conclusion from the above data is the households used to pay a lot of their medical 3expenses out of pocket rather than using insurance for evey little thing. The total cost was much less.

Why do you blame the government for private insurance company, private hospital, private medical equipment company, private pharmaceutical company practices?

If the government tomorrow started paying with tax revenue 80% of the cost of all the petroleum products people over 65 wanted to buy, what would happen to the price of petroleum products? What might happen to Exxon profits?

so you blame the government for private industry taking advantage of government

typical republican, taking advantage of the dole and blame others

You know where you can have guns and no government intervention? Somalia. Move along now child.

I blame the government for taking taxes from the people and enabling their crony capitalist friends to profit wildly from the "services" they claim to be paying them to provide.
