Oh no, Keatts doesn't have a history of big man development. What he does have is a history of winning. 10 years at Hargrave with a 262-17 rcord and 2 NC's. Another NC at Louisville as an assistant. Immediate turn around at perennial loser UNC-W, with 72-28 in 3 years and 2 NCAA appearances. Another immediate turn around at NC State with 21-12 and an NCAA appearance after being worse than WFU 2 years ago. So Deacon fans keep on rationalizing, but be prepared to be looking up at State for a good long while to come.

Welp, this is very bad news. No way to spin it. 11th new player added by Keatts to this year’s roster (9 eligible to play this season).

Meanwhile, we are fully in scramble mode.

Good for Keatts on capitalizing on a strong first season. Manning’s only chance at this point is to win this year... And even then, it feels like a sinking ship.
 
Manning sucks as a coach. I wish he didn't but he does.

You can't go through life afraid. You know Manning sucks. You have to fire him and hope Wellman gets lucky. Just randomly picking a college coach is likely an improvement.
 
There is a rumor circulating which says that, after receiving SKJ's transcripts, Pitt told him not to bother making his scheduled official visit. It first appeared just before the UNC board reported that Carolina wasn't pursuing him anymore. There may be something to it; there may not. However, you might want to wait until SKJ actually enrolls, much less plays a game, before castigating Manning over this one.
 
Meanwhile, our boards were starting to feel good about our chances with him. So I doubt we were concerned about transcripts.

These boards were "feeling good about him" for three reasons. Being on his list of planned official visits; making his short list when he was being recruited in high school and Danny's reputation as a big man coach.

I don't think anyone had any information about his academic status.
 
Until proven otherwise the grades/transcripts stuff is a joke that Pitt and UNC fans are using because they didn’t land him. Kid isn’t even playing next year. No chance he got into UK and hen all of a sudden won’t be touched by other schools. Especially if they are run by a Capel and UNC. Come on now guys.

While it is possible this is a "joke" by Pitt etc. there is still a possibility that SKJ was not a diligent student while at KY. Jis qualified to play status coming out of HS would not be relevant to his current college academic standing.
