Biden to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan by 9/11/21

WE now know that ISIS was intent on attacking the withdrawal, being the enemy of both US and Taliban.

Keeping Bagram open would have required a lot more troops to be in Afghanistan than in the United States, thus increasing the target count for ISIS.

Those 13 guys would likely have been there under your (hindsight) plan to keep Bagram open, and a lot more than 13 likely would have been killed as ISIS was intent on attacking US military and Afghan innocents during the withdrawal.

To sit here and say their deaths could have been "completely prevented" is rich, even by your standards.

Gotta love his logic. The way to keep troops out of harms way is to put more troops in harms way.

We controlled the streets for the last 20 years. Nobody said that this Administration had to wait to the 13th hour to complete civilian evacuations.

Almost anyone with experience knows this is true (which explains why you don't). Mass is one of the basic principles of war.

Remember, other people are out living real lives while you play on the internet all day.

I guess it's a shame that Trump made the deal to draw down US troops to 3500 then (along with releasing 5000 Taliban of course). Imagine the faux lid-flipping by the Pubs if Biden sent another 10-15k troops back to Afghanistan.

Bro, you have by far the most posts on this thread

That's the justification for perpetual war. We already did that. You couldn't give two shits about the thousands of people who died before. But now you pretend to care so you can take shots at Biden.

And again, it was your party's president, the one who played on the internet all day, who negotiated this surrender to the Taliban and your party lauded him for it.

Hilarious. Biden(?) has shown no hesitation in reversing Trump policies he disagreed with. Witness a myriad of examples. The truth is Biden couldn't get out of Afghanistan fast enough. Blaming Trump for what Biden always wanted to do is not a great argument. Are you all watching the news?

That's a little disingenuous ph. Li'l donnie jenius played golf almost as much as he played on the internet.

blaming Biden for doing what trump said he would do (but didn't have the balls to do) is also not a great argument.

Which Trump policies did he reverse that involved an agreement with a foreign power / government?

It was a suicide bomber attacking the line at the airport. Your constant shifting of goalposts to campaign against Biden keeps failing to remember this. Are you saying that having more troops there at the time would deter suicide bombers?

The evacuation has been declared a disaster by many conservatives because 13 Americans died. So yes, it seems like the ratio of dead soldiers to the number of people safely evacuated is relevant... especially when folks like wokenbroke are so distraught over the 13 men. Random bars in Kansas are pouring 73 pints of beer and leaving them on the table, they are pouring 13. They are using the 13 as props in a political theater performance to blame 20 years of bad decisions on the guy who finally decided to end this fiasco.

As a matter of fact, I don't work for you or the state. Way to make stuff up to try and be funny though!

The evacuation has been a disaster for a number of reasons (covered in detail in earlier posts). Not just because we lost 13 servicemen and women (as well as 60 brown afghans who you conveniently excluded from your laughable evacuation 'metric').

But you clowns will continue to (D)efend because someone on Team Blue is now in charge.

Unfortunately this is just the start with US citizens, afghan allies, and visa holders still stranded in Afghanistan. Hope like hell I'm wrong.

just to be clear, then, you're cool with giving asylum to all the brown Afghans we're bringing in to the country, right?

The Blob and NatSec state are so much larger than any one administration it's dumb to finger point at Biden or Trump or Bush and pretend like that's where any of this stops. Not to say each of those people didn't play parts in the War in Afghanistan, they clearly all did, but there are so many moving pieces down the chain of command that never make it to the commander in chief that have been bungled for the past 20 years, I'd expect a rank and file WokeandBroke to at least acknowledge these alongside bigger failures.

But as far as the job the Biden State Department has done, it's remarkably good: https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-real-story-of-the-state-departments-afghanistan-evacuation

The coordination of the evacuation and withdrawal during a pandemic with dozens of countries and hundreds of agencies and NGOs and thousands of people and billions spent was, overall, a success.

The tragic loss of life is a risk of having our service people in the line of duty in an active war zone, one I'm very happy Biden has decided to no longer put Americans in. I hope Biden takes a further look at the drone program as well; the latest strike was abominable. The next steps should be reducing the Pentagon budget massively, canceling our arms contracts, and reinvesting our defense portfolio away from the military World Police state.

you said "completely prevented" wrt a terrorist attack in a country that the US occupied for 20 yrs in and spent trillions in and couldn't eradicate terrorists from. keep swinging ole buddy
