Boehner plans to sue Obama?

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Capitol to the federal courthouse just down the hill, but House Republicans haven’t managed to make that trip in the four months since they announced they’d be suing the president.
House Speaker John Boehner came out swinging hard last June when he announced that his chamber would take President Barack Obama to court. The suit, charging that the president grossly exceeded his constitutional authority by failing to implement portions of the Obamacare law, was billed as an election-season rallying point for aggrieved Republicans. But days before the midterms, the House’s legal guns seem to have fallen silent.

If Boehner wrote a completely candid memoir upon leaving politics, it would be fascinating. Don't think he's a world beater intellectually, but I do think he's a reasonably decent guy who found himself in a really crappy situation and made some outwardly ridiculous decisions because the other other options were even worse. He has to know that Obamacare can't possibly be repealed before 2017 at the earliest, but he still allowed 40+ pointless votes to placate the Tea Party. The "lawsuit" is a similar tactic, he knows that impeachment would be a political disaster for the GOP with no chance for conviction in the Senate, so he floated a bizarre gimmick to buy time since he knows the impeachment circus will be a train wreck whenever it happens.

Could be totally wrong, Boehner could be completely incompetent and will do anything to keep his job (think Reid or McConnell), but he's already been Speaker for an extended period and there's no chance of passing landmark legislation while Obama's still in office. Kinda think that Boehner's seen the GOP fall apart thanks to the Tea Party and he's done some bizarre things to minimize the damage as best he can. Problem is that nobody will forget the pointless Obamacare repeal votes or the "lawsuit". Truly does suck to be him.

He's a total coward.
