Bundy = Racist

I read this article on "conservative tribalism" and it makes a lot of sense. Conservative hate anything liberals or more specifically that Obama loves. This Bundy situation is the other side. Conservatives like anything or anybody that opposes Obama even if it means they are outside the law and raising up arms against the USA.
 
Hannity and Fox News really hitched their wagon to the wrong horse on this one. Status quo.
 
The funniest and most ironic part of Bundy's statement about blacks living off the government is his entire problem is he wants to his cattle to live off the federal government's dime and is willing start and armed event because of it.
 
I feel like this happened in New Hampshire a few years ago. Some crazy old white guy didn't believe in the Federal Government so didn't pay taxes. Ended up owing millions in back taxes from his successful dental practice, refused to pay because why pay something to an organization you believe shouldn't exist. He was charged with a bunch of crimes where his defense was there are no laws that exist that he has to pay federal taxes and even if they did he doesn't recognize them. Surprise he was convicted but then returned to his crazy militia compound in the mountains of New Hampshire where he had a standoff with federal marshals. The crazy train arrived and a bunch of other people joined him to stand up to the feds.

I don't understand how people can profess their love for America and The Constitution, yet not believe in the legitimacy of the federal government.

they generally overcome the cognitive dissonance by carrying around a pocket copy of the Constitution at all times, so they can whip it out and say that whatever thing the Federal Gummint is doing to them is not expressly authorized therein.
 
Haha. Yep. The best is the people who defend the Constitution and want to repeal amendments.
 
The BLM story on the Oklahoma - Texas border is far more compelling than some yokel refusing to pay grazing fees. Unfortunately, this yokel's story and subsequent racist bullshit will probably completely undermine that story.

Well, that's because the Constitution says that any powers not explicitly granted to the federal government shall be left to the states.

Of course, the Commerce clause (and the Supreme Court's interpretation of it) have greatly expanded the powers "granted" to the government.

I don't think it says explicitly. Just that powers not delegated by Constitution are left to the states or to the people. Lot of leeway there which the Supreme Court has taken over the years.

And regardless, none of that is applicable to the Bundy situation. This is nothing ambiguous or vague. He flouted the government, made personal gain at the public's expense, and now this administration backed down. At best all I can assume is that the White House and DOJ decided that the substantive issue at hand is not worth killing ignorant, bullheaded citizens who refuse to recognize when they're utterly in the wrong.

Amendment X

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." There are plenty of people who wish that it didn't say that and have turned growing wheat in your backyard to interstate commerce, but finding any ambiguity or leeway there is reading a nonexistent exception into a pretty clear rule of specific limitation to enumerated powers. What you're talking about is an end run around the Amendment process by deployment of the phantom nuance.

We are in the midst of a war in America with the Right vs the Left.

Simplifying it, on one side you have Christians and other decent people who believe in fundamental principles such as property rights and other God-given rights and liberties that cannot be infringed upon by Government. People who just basically want to be left alone and able to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

On the other, mostly effectively atheists who (while some claim to believe in God) do not respect God-given rights, and desire the use the power of the State/Government for their own benefit -- such as stealing the property of others to re-distribute it, and take away their 1st and 2nd Amendment rights to enslave those people to the State and ensure the theft and gravy train.

Now why don't some of you true believers on the Left just ADMIT that you hate those in the first group and are actively working to wage war against them and destroy America as we know it?
