aside from all this it’s funny that RW talk radio plays lots of ads for divorce attorneys. Presumably because the spouses of their audience can’t stand them anymore.

Somewhere a ginger fobbit here in NC is trembling in rage at this tacit condoning of breaking up the family unit.

Far as I know, men’s rights advocates don’t argue with those truths, they mostly claim that women weaponize those accusations to win in court, and word vs word, women get biased benefit of the doubt.

It actually had more to do with the belief that children "need their mother" and the mother should be the one raising the children, even when facts specific to the case did not support this belief. Absent clear and abundant reasons to the contrary, mothers were presumed to be primary and preferred caregiver by judges, making it much more difficult for fathers to given primary custody. This was presumed true even in dual income families. Until recently it was always an uphill battle for fathers to be granted primary custody.
There is also the child support angle. The schedule A and schedule B overnight limits that determine the amount of payment the primary caregiver receives is a bit ridiculous. It should definitely be a more tiered system. Many times, the primary custody "winner" will fight for the number of overnights to be restricted to at least 1 below the limit, just to receive a bigger check. This definitely creates a winner vs loser situation. One parent gets all the money and custody and the other gets sent to the poor house and loses their kid.

New CEO just announced the company's new 2024 "Rallying Cry" and its accompanying picture... it's a dude rolling a boulder up a hill. Are they not familiar with Greek mythology? This is supposed to be motivational?

even worse is they are and they think that perpetual grind is the actual, better goal

that was my takeaway. that damn woman took your kids from you, it's time to fight.

Bunch of self hating men here, may I suggest a listen to some motivational speaking by the philosopher Andrew Tate!

No self hate here. Just a warning to make sure your pull out game is strong or you will be the one getting fucked. Much more of an International Players Anthem fan, not an Andrew Tate fan.

The actual motto/rallying-cry is cribbed straight from 3 Musketeers and is exactly what you think it is.

But yeah, he has made so many statements during this Town Hall that show exactly what our C-Suite motivations are (cut costs and probably try and package/flip the company before it all crashes and burns)

what about financial abuse?

No specific answer, but the fact that more households have the male as the primary earner should translate to men being more likely to commit financial abuse. Financial misdeeds are accounted for in division of property and alimony and generally don't matter in custody matters unless they involved illegality. Generally the only financial considerations for custody are ability to pay.

Absolutely witnessed this happen to a family member. It was handled in mediation, but the number of overnights falling at that threshold was a point the other party wouldn't budge on.

At least in a 50-50 situation, if a party ends up owing child support it's just basic math and doesn't feel like a lose-lose.

Damn it is frigid this morning. Gonna be a great ramen night.

This is why mom, a divorce attorney for about 25 years now, has had many more male clients than female clients. Men tend to think women will be more pugilistic and fight for everything in a divorce, and a male lawyer will be less emotional and more conciliatory. Using the system against itself to buy herself a retirement home in South Carolina. Down with the patriarchy!

If she needs insurance I'm her guy.

I have already had 110 grams of protein and 3 cups of coffee today and I officially stand on business.
