I'm going to a WFU event in Portland tonight; something with a bus? I dunno, but it's free food and booze at a solid brewery. I know of two other deacons out here, really curious to see who else is there because apparently the event is at capacity.

It it's anything like the alumni things in DC it will be a ton of recent grads, some super involved old guys, and not much in between.

double checked, and it does say that "light fare will be provided," which means my dinner tonight will be generous helpings of 'light fare.'

Went when they stopped in Denver; food was from chick-fil-a which was good enough to snack on while drinking some free beers. No hard push for fundraising at the event as I recall; just getting the alumni community engaged and connected.

It's mostly outside, the beer is good, the food is good, they have corn hole, there may or may not be a strip club a block or two away

Want to go but 5-8pm is shitty timing on a weekday. It's way the hell up there outside of Glendale

I'm pretty sure it's Campus Gas, the one right across the street from campus. It was re-zoned for bar use.

Wow, I stand corrected. My wife lived in the house across the street with norcaldeac (he might be boards dead now). We would set up chairs in the yard at 2 am and watch people get busted for DUI when the cops set up the roadblock in front of the gas station.

Yeah. Sounds like the bar concept is going all in on the gas station theme.
