Shouldn't the song of the 2010s have to actually be, you know, a song?

Playing that video for Alright was the first time Ive ever heard that song.

Its probably some Katy Perry song like Firework or Happy

we're talking about songs we don't want to turn off within the first 10 seconds, right?

Despite the general misery of the boards, It's probably "Happy" or "Can't Stop the Feeling".

misery? who's miserable?

as the greatest philosopher of the 90s once said: if you're bored then you're boring

how is alright not a song?

also pretty sure get lucky/happy/firework/party rock/hotline bling all don't last the next fifteen years. hell i've already forgotten about get lucky and party rock. the next hey ya! needs to have some level of sticking power beyond the pop charts.

also just because you haven't heard it doesn't mean it's not the song - 104 million views on YouTube dude

unfortunately i think hotline bling will last just fine (partly because of the memes), but otherwise agreed

man if fuck you had dropped in 2009 or something it'd rub up against hey ya! as the best of that decade (wouldn't win out obviously).

but listening to fuck you in 2018 is like stepping into a sonic time machine even though we're still going through this one. the sound just doesn't reflect the attitude of what we're going through - or what we may remember this decade to have been.

obviously when soulja boy finally drops life in the attention age next year this is all gonna be a moot point
